The rising star, 20, looked elegant in a light pink floral mesh dress with cut-out hip details, paired with platform heels.

When the family arrived at the top of the iconic red staircase, Carys and Catherine planted a kiss on 78-year-old Michael’s cheeks.

The Academy Award-winning actress styled her brunette locks in loose curls and sported a blush makeup look.

Meanwhile, Michael looked smart in a black tuxedo, crisp white shirt and shiny shoes.

The power couple also have a 22-year-old son named Dylan, a Brown University graduate.

Catherine and Michael met in 1998 and married in 2000 at the Plaza Hotel in NYC and have gone on to become one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples.

The Cannes red carpet comes back to life as the 76th Film Festival kicks off with the premiere of the Louis XV drama Jeanne du Barry.

The film marks the return of actor Johnny Depp to the cinema for the first time after his highly publicized libel trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Period drama Jeanne du Barry, directed by and starring French actor-director Maïwenn, stars alongside Johnny Depp as Louis XV.

It is his first new film since his trial last year with Amber Heard, his ex-wife.

After both Johnny and Amber accused each other of physical and verbal abuse, a civil jury awarded him $10 million in damages and $2 million to Amber.

In comments to the press Monday, Cannes director Thierry Fremaux defended the choice, saying Depp is extraordinary in the film and that he paid no attention to the process.

“To tell you the truth, in my life I have only one rule, it is the freedom of thought, the freedom of expression and the freedom to act within a legal framework,” Fremaux said.

“If Johnny Depp wasn’t allowed to star in a movie, or if the movie was banned, we wouldn’t be talking about this.”

Depp previously appeared as King Louis XV in promo images for his highly anticipated film released in January.

The veteran actor looked regal as the French monarch alongside co-star/director Maiwenn Le Besco, who plays King Louis’s mistress, Jeanne du Barry.

In 2016, 36-year-old Heard famously accused the actor, 59, of domestic violence, which led to Depp being blacklisted by much of Hollywood, resulting in the loss of movie roles.

A jury determined that Heard’s claims, which were published in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed against Depp, were defamatory and she was ordered to pay the actor $15 million in damages.

Depp was ordered by the same courtroom to pay Heard $2 million after Heard filed a counter-suit for libel.

Heard filed an appeal in early December, but the former couple recently came to an agreement that Heard would pay $1 million to settle the case instead of entering a third trial.

Lawyers for Depp, Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez, said the actor is glad the “painful chapter” is over and confirmed he would donate the money to charity.

In an Instagram statement, Heard confirmed the plea, but refused to accept guilt, stating that her life had been “destroyed” by the jury’s decision.

In 2020, a UK court ruled that 12 of the 14 incidents of violence claimed by Heard were “substantially true,” and Depp was subsequently forced to resign from the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise at the request of Warner Bros.

This year’s festival promises a Côte d’Azur buffet of spectacle, scandal and cinema served over the next 12 days.

It unfolds against the backdrop of labor unrest. Protests that have stirred France in recent months over changes to the pension system will take place during the festival, albeit at a distance from the main festival hub.

Meanwhile, an ongoing strike by screenwriters in Hollywood could have unpredictable consequences for the festival on the French Riviera.

But with a festival packed with some highly anticipated, big-budget films, including James Mangold’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of the Destiny and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, the party is sure to go on anyway.

The largest film festival in the world will conclude with the closing ceremony on May 27.
