Glamorous Hollywood actress is completely unrecognisable in a cropped wig and glasses for new role – do YOU know who it is?

A glamorous Hollywood actress looked completely unrecognizable in a mousy brown wig and large black-framed glasses as she filmed her new project in Dublin on Friday.

The two-time Academy Award-winning actress was spotted in Dublin filming Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, a ‘funny and sad’ film from Jim Jarmusch.

She last worked with Jim, 70, for the 2003 anthology Coffee & Cigarettes, which also featured Steve Buscemi and Iggy Pop.

The star was last seen in the drama film The New Boy, released in 2023 and filmed in Australia.

So do you know who it is?

That’s right, it’s Cate Blanchett!

On Friday, the 54-year-old actress wore a sand-colored trench coat, over a light blue shirt and over a red turtleneck in the Irish capital.

Neither the plot nor the rest of the film’s cast have been revealed.

Cate was captured on set talking very animatedly on a cell phone as she got out of a vehicle.

She was caught driving a metallic blue car, which at one point had its bonnet open while parked in the north inner city of Stoneybatter Dublin.

The Don’t Look Up actress wore a trench coat and a shirt underneath for the first day of filming in the Irish capital.

Cate launched her new project after finishing Guy Maddin’s ensemble comedy Rumours, which will also star Alicia Vikander.

She has also finished filming Borderlands, an American science fiction film based on the video game of the same name.

The actress is booked and busy – despite the delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood.

She will also appear in Alfonso Cuaron’s Apple TV thriller series Disclaimer, due out later this year.

Father, Mother, Sister, Brother will be Jim’s first film in five years – as the Ohio-born director, 70, revealed the project was in the works during a candid chat at the Overlook Film Festival last April.

‘The film that we are now preparing to shoot at the end of this year, I think, probably has no music (…) It is a very subtle film; it is very quiet. And I think music can move the film too much in one direction; it’s a funny and sad movie, right?

‘It’s a bit both intertwined. I don’t know if I want to have music to add something else to it. So far it doesn’t really want to,” he revealed.

Filming quietly began in West Milford, New Jersey, in November, and it’s likely Paris will follow, making these two cities the film’s key locations.

The Australian stunner and Jim go way back in time – as their last work together was in the 2003 anthology Coffee & Cigarettes, in which she played dual roles, including herself.

The film is being produced by Animal Kingdom and CG Cinéma, in association with up-and-coming production company Exoskeleton – and is rumored to wrap filming in spring 2024.

No other information has been revealed about the plot or cast, as it appears details are being kept under wraps.
