Cate Blanchett has made friends with countless A-List stars throughout her glamorous career.

And on Monday, the 53-year-old was spotted boarding a flight to Adelaide with Foreign Secretary Penny Wong.

The pair were seen chatting as they walked side by side at Sydney airport with Cate’s seven-year-old daughter Edith.

Cate was smartly dressed in a black jacket, white knit top and black wide-leg pants.

Her blonde locks were styled in a sleek wave and she added a touch of glamor with a black designer clutch.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Wong wore a checked gray blazer, black trousers and designer shoes.

Cate is currently in Australia promoting her upcoming film Tár, which will hit theaters next year.

The pair seemed engrossed in conversation as they made their way to the departure lounge.

It’s not the first time the couple has spent time together.

Cate was one of many high-profile mourners celebrating the life of Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam at Sydney Town Hall in 2014, and was seen chatting with Ms Wong during the service.

She also announced a water and energy conservation initiative at the Sydney Theater Company in 2019, along with Ms Wong, Peter Garrett and her husband Andrew Upton.

She recently said her new drama’s themes encouraged the cast and crew, making the film shoot “the most stimulating” she’d ever seen.

In the feature film, she plays Lydia Tár, the world-famous gay conductor of a Berlin orchestra whose soaring career has been tarnished by an abuse scandal.

Cate credited the film’s writer and director Todd Field for making the most of his cast with often unscripted, spontaneous ideas.

“I felt like we were standing on the edge of a cliff every day and saying, ‘This might not work, let’s try it,’ which was really exciting to make,” she told Reuters.

The Don’t Look Up star and her husband, Andrew Upton, live in England and have four children together: Dashiell, 20, Roman, 18, Ignatius, 14, and Edith, seven.
