Cate Blanchett, 54, cuts a stylish figure wearing an all-black ensemble as she joins son Roman, 19, on a rare outing together in New York City

Cate Blanchett showed off her sense of style when she took a rare public outing in New York City with teenage son Roman on Saturday.

The Carol actress, 54, who was effortlessly chic on a recent trip to Ibiza with husband Andrew Upton, was spotted leaving a restaurant in the Big Apple with the 19-year-old.

The blonde beauty shares sons Roman, Dashiell, 21, and Ignatius, 15, as well as adopted daughter Edith, eight, with Upton, 57 – to whom she tied the knot in 1997.

The Oscar winner wore black, loose-fitting pants and a black and white printed shirt.

She paired the ensemble with a black blazer that she left loose and slipped on a pair of white sneakers to stay comfy over the weekend getaway.

The Australian-born star accessorized her look with a chunky necklace and sported a pair of fashionable black shades for the finishing touch.

Cate easily picked up a black and white Louis Vuitton Go-14 bag that contained a striking belt with gold chain. The bag was relaunched earlier this week after first being introduced to consumers in 2015.

Blanchett is no stranger to the luxury brand and was named a brand ambassador in June last year – specifically for the company’s jewelry collections.

Her blond locks were parted to the side and pulled back into a low ponytail to keep loose strands from falling on her face.

The Lord Of The Rings actress was seen stepping onto a busy sidewalk as she made her way to a waiting vehicle, with her son right behind her.

He dressed for the lunch outing in a plain black shirt and khaki pants. Roman also donned a gray cap to partially cover his locks and sported sneakers tied with vibrant red laces.

Cate has worked through a busy summer schedule and taken herself on an unforgettable trip to Ibiza, Spain, with her husband and playwright Andrew Upton.

The couple was spotted soaking up the sun with some close friends who also joined in on the festivities, while the actress herself was effortlessly chic.

She put on a cream striped dress secured with a belt tied in a loose bow around the waist. Her husband was also dressed for warm weather in brown shorts and a rust-colored T-shirt.

The two lovebirds married in 1997 and will celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary later this December.

The award-winning actress made her screen debut in 1997 in the Paradise Road project, but rose to prominence after landing the lead role in the historical drama Elizabeth (1998).

Over the course of her successful career to date, Blanchett has been nominated for a total of eight Oscars, winning two: Best Supporting Actress for The Aviator and Best Actress for Blue Jasmine.

While you talk to Page six Last April, Cate admitted that despite her fame, her children are “uninterested” in their mother’s stardom.

“They’re clueless, clueless,” she told the outlet. “I told them, ‘Oh, I’m going to New York for 36 hours. I’ll be back on Wednesday…’ One of them gets an award at school, and they said, ‘Oh, okay, have fun.’ .”‘

The star said her four children are “disinterested” in her fame, but “in the best, healthiest way possible.”

She recently celebrated the release of a recent project titled The New Boy, which premiered in Australia on July 6. The beauty played the lead role of Sister Eileen in the film – which was both written and directed by Warwick Thornton.

The premise reads: ‘The hypnotic story of a nine-year-old native Australian orphan boy who arrives in the dead of night at a remote monastery run by a renegade nun’, IMDB.

Blanchett also stepped behind the camera to help produce the upcoming sci-fi romance movie called Fingernails.

Her husband, Andrew, was also one of the producers on the project, which will officially premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12. The film will be streaming on Apple TV+ later this year on November 3.

The premise follows the character of Anna who “secretly embarks on a new assignment at a mysterious institution designed to kindle and test the presence of romantic love in increasingly desperate couples,” according to IMDB.

Part of the cast includes The Bear star, Jeremy Allen White, Annie Murphy, Jessie Buckley and also Riz Ahmed.
