Catan, a new book by the late Klaus Teuber, sounds a lot less intense than the novel adaptation from around 2005

Norway, 860 – Determined to free his beloved from the oppressive rule of her chieftain father, Thorolf—with the help of his half-brothers Yngvi and Digur—devises a plan to help her escape through the dead of night. When their escape does not go according to plan, the brothers and their allies are banished from the Northlands. With no other choice, the company begins a treacherous journey toward their new home: Catan, Land of the Sun.

But new challenges await on this island and discoveries must be made if they are to survive. Will the brothers be able to stand together and provide a better future for all the colonists, or will this new mission divide them even further?
