Fur-always at home! Cat returned to animal shelter for being ‘too cuddly and playful’ finds loving new home with partner thanks to emotional Facebook post
A cat who was returned to an animal shelter for being “too cuddly and playful” has found a loving new home thanks to an emotional Facebook post.
Last month, the Montville, New Jersey, animal shelter rehomed two-year-old Bruno with a single working mother and her daughter.
Although the family was initially excited to have their first pet, Bruno’s need for attention became too much for them.
The adorable young feline – whose first owner was allergic to him – loves to butt people to show affection, making it difficult for his owner to work from home.
In addition, the owner did not agree with Bruno sleeping in his daughter’s bed and running around his house at night.

Late last month, the animal sanctuary announced to its 4,500 Facebook followers that Bruno had been returned by his new family after just seven days.
They wrote: ‘Sad news Bruno is back after only a week! The family had never had a cat before and he said that he was too affectionate, he always wanted to sit on their laps, follow them around and head butt them to kiss and caress them.
‘He was also too playful and zoomed in at night!’
Joking about Bruno’s loving nature, the shelter added: “So if anyone is looking for a velcro cat, he’s your guy!”
The shelter then included two photos of a sad-looking Bruno curled up in a fluffy bed, shocking the shelter’s Facebook community.
Commenting on the photos, one responded: “Hang in there honey, your forever home is out there.” You deserve all the best.’
Another emotional user wrote: ‘Oh he just wants love!’
“Sounds amazing,” added a third.
The shelter’s Facebook post moved his 4,500 followers, prompting several to file applications to relocate Bruno.

The post racked up more than 1,700 likes and 1,400 shares in two weeks, resulting in multiple families submitting applications to relocate Bruno.
speaking to NorthJersey.comDenville’s couple, Catherine and Andrew, explained how they had seen Bruno on the shelter’s website the night before the post went live.
However, the couple did not want to rush into the decision and chose to sleep. The next day, they saw the shelter’s viral post and were quick to act.
Andrew says they managed to get his request just “before the post blew up.”
When they went to pick him up at the shelter, Catherin says Bruno “basically got into her neck” and was “so excited” to go.
The first night they had Bruno, the couple said he woke them up with head banging, and Catherine began working from home to help Bruno settle into his new living space.
Additionally, the couple revealed that Bruno’s story has helped nearly all of the shelter’s remaining rescue cats find loving homes.
