Cat will start her role on This Morning on March 11, alongside 49-year-old Ben, who is leaving Good Morning Britain after more than a decade.
Now that she has taken the new job, Cat will reportedly lose her old role on So You Think You Can Dance in the US, where she was paid an estimated £43,000 per episode. Instead, she opted for the role on This Morning with a reported £43,000. 550k annual salary.
It was claimed that Cat had finally been won over with a more lucrative deal, but insiders at ITV denied the claims – insisting that it was the opportunity to spend more time with family, during a big-money payday, that ultimately sealed the deal sealed.
The news was confirmed via a bespoke promo on This Morning’s Twitter.
Cat said: “This Morning is a national institution. When it’s on, it’s like having your friends over – funny, smart, silly, sincere, informative and cheerful – like all best friendships!…
‘This morning is and remains the viewer’s show. Ben and I both know how much people love it, and with the help of a great team of people, we’re going to do our best to make it happen.”
