Cassius Turvey murder: Shock twist after charges laid

Three accused of murdering a teenager who was fatally struck while walking home from school are charged with the alleged kidnapping and stabbing of another 15-year-old teenager.
Three of the people accused of murdering Perth teenager Cassius Turvey are alleged to have kidnapped and assaulted another boy days earlier.
Cassius, a 15-year-old boy from Noongar Yamatji, was allegedly chased and beaten with a metal pole while walking home from school with friends on 13 October. He suffered severe head injuries and died in hospital 10 days later.
Since then, four people have been charged with his murder. They have yet to file statements.
Cassius Turvey, 15, was walking home from school in Middle Swan, Perth on October 13 with three friends when he was allegedly violently assaulted by a group of men.

Cassius (pictured) suffered serious head injuries and spent five days in hospital before being released. However, just hours after leaving he suffered a seizure and two strokes and was taken back. He then he died.
Police said Wednesday that three of the defendants faced new charges related to a separate attack on another 15-year-old boy.
The boy was allegedly chased through the Swan View area on October 9 before being caught and beaten, kicked and stabbed.
βIt will be further alleged that the child was placed in a vehicle and taken to a house where he was held for a period of time before being released,β WA Police said in a statement.
Jack Steven James Brearley, 21, Mitchell Colin Forth, 24, and Aleesha Louise Gilmore, 20, will face court at a later date in connection with the incident.
All three have been charged with detaining another with the intent to force him to perform an act.
Brearley and Forth are also charged with aggravated unlawful battery.
An 18-year-old Bellevue man faces both charges and was denied bail to appear in Midland Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He has not been charged in connection with Cassius’ death.
