Police say Lee and Momeni were driving Momeni’s car moments earlier.

They had a fight that led to the stabbing, they said, and Lee tried to flee for safety.

It’s unclear where they had been earlier in the night – the stabbing occurred around 2:30 am.

Lee, a 43-year-old father of two, was alone in San Francisco for a tech conference.

He moved last October from Mill Valley, an exclusive suburb where Khazar and her husband also own a home, to Miami.

In a joint statement after Momeni’s arrest last night, Lee’s father Rick, brother Tim and ex-wife Krista said: “As a family, we are very grateful to the hard-working SFPD detectives for bringing his killer to justice.

“Our next steps will be to work with the district attorney’s office to make sure this person isn’t hurting anyone else or is on the loose.”

They described Bob as a loving son, brother and father who “has positively influenced millions of people throughout his life.”

“From a humble upbringing in the Midwest, he started programming and creating web pages for the small business adjoining our parents’ own store.

“A young Bob made the solution unpaid and then gave it to the world for free.

“That’s who Bob was,” the family said.

Neither Momeni nor his sister have released any form of statement since his arrest.

Police searched her property next to the pen where Momeni was arrested yesterday.

Neighbors told DailyMail.com that he is “warm and welcoming” and that they were stunned by his arrest.

However, questions have been raised about his background.

Online, he claims to be a UC Berkeley graduate, but the school says there are no records of him ever attending classes.

Police yesterday declined to share what evidence they have that led to Momeni’s arrest.

But she — and local officials, including Mayor London Breed and DA Brooke Jenkins — seemed to gloat that Lee’s killing wasn’t random.

Many had cited his murder as the latest evidence of San Francisco’s crime problem.

On April 5, Elon Musk tweeted, “Many people I know have been severely assaulted.

“Violent crime in SF is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often immediately released.

“Is the city taking stronger measures to lock up repeat offenders?”

Yesterday Brooke Jenkins labeled his tweet as “reckless.”

“Since this incident happened, ever since I woke up to Elon Musk’s tweet, my office has worked hard to tell people not to make assumptions about this matter.

“We knew nothing about the facts of this case right after it happened,” she said.

Momeni is expected to face charges today.

Jenkins vowed yesterday not to seek bail and to prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.
