Cash App exec Bob Lee’s accused killer Nima Momeni has hearing postponed last-minute

The man suspected of murdering Cash App founder Bob Lee on the streets of San Francisco was due to appear in court on Friday before his hearing was postponed at the last minute.

Nima Momeni was arrested early Thursday morning at his home and is charged with murder for allegedly stabbing the tech tycoon.

He received a heart sign from a relative in the public gallery as he entered the courthouse, before his arraignment was dramatically delayed because one of the prosecutors was on vacation.

Momeni will now appear in court again on April 25.

The 38-year-old is the owner of Expand IT, a Bay Area technology company, and describes herself online as a startup entrepreneur.

San Francisco Attorney General Brooke Jenkins has charged Momeni with murder, in addition to another charge of using a knife.

At a press conference on Thursday, the OM said they are trying to detain Momeni without bail, arguing that he is a danger to the community.

Nima showed up at the courthouse on Friday with a shaved head and wearing an orange prison-issued sweatshirt, slacks and sandals, but was not handcuffed.

Several of his relatives were seen sitting behind his defense table, with a gray-haired woman placing her hands in a heart shape over her head as he arrived.

Momeni’s motive for the alleged attack has not been revealed, but police have confirmed that the pair knew each other.

The tech entrepreneur was also joined in court by his glamorous sister Khazar Momeni, who reportedly introduced the couple and owns property near where Lee was stabbed and in the suburb where he lived last year.

Bob Lee, 43, was stabbed in the street in the early hours of April 4 while visiting San Francisco from Miami, where he lived.

It’s unclear if Momeni attended the same tech conference Lee was in town, but the pair were seen together in Momeni’s car at around 2:30 a.m., moments before the stabbing.

According to police sources, they had some kind of confrontation that led to the attack.

Krista, Bob Lee’s ex-wife, told local Fox News 2 that she remains perplexed about the suspect’s motive, but confirmed that the couple knew each other.

Shocking surveillance footage captured the moments after the stabbing, where Lee somehow stumbled out of the car before leaving a trail of blood as he struggled to walk down the street.

The harrowing footage shows Lee stumbling through the city after being stabbed in the chest. He died in hospital later that morning.

Lee had recently moved his family from San Francisco to Miami. Although he and his wife Krista were no longer together, she too moved to Florida to stay close to their children.

Tributes have poured in for the tech entrepreneur following his death, with his father, Rick, describing him as his “best friend.”

“I just lost my best friend, my son Bob Lee, when he died on the street in San Francisco.

“I moved to Mill Valley, CA with Bob after his mother died in 2019 and we recently moved to Miami in October 2022.

“Life has been an adventure with two singles living together, and I’m so glad we’ve been able to get so close over the past few years.

“Bob would give you the shirt off his back. He would never look down on anyone and adhered to a strict philosophy of non-judgment.

“Bobby worked harder than anyone and was the smartest person I’ve ever known.

“He will be missed by all who knew him. Thank you to those who supported us,” he said.
