Casey married her husband, the creator of Happy Endings, in a ceremony in Ojai, California in 2014 after the sitcom ended.

They then welcomed two young boys, Max, seven, and Henry, five, into the world before adding a daughter to the family this month.

Casey said that Frankie was “delivered by another angel, our surrogate and friend, Stacy, who we love and are immensely grateful for.”

She stated: ‘Surrogacy is women supporting women in its highest form and it has been a profound experience. Uplifting and inspiring.’

Family time: The news was accompanied by an Instagram album that included photos of newborn Frankie with his mother and two older brothers, Max, seven, and Henry, five.

Turning her attention to her daughter, Casey fumed: ‘Frankie Rose is more than I could have imagined.’

The proud mother wrote that her daughter ‘completes the sacred circle of mother and daughter that I have longed for. I’m on the other side this time, wishing Grandma Kathy could see her and hoping (knowing) that she can.’

Casey was just 25 when she lost her own mother Kathleen, a political activist who had battled obesity, to a heart attack in 2005.

Taking to Instagram this week, Casey said the “arrival of her little girl is healing and joyful.” We move forward! Hand to hand. With women accompanying us inside and ahead.

The message was accompanied by a touching album that included photos of a newborn Frankie with her mother and two older brothers.

A few years ago, Casey wrote an opinion piece in the New York Times about experiencing ‘motherhood impostor syndrome’ with her children.

When Max developed symptoms of what was eventually diagnosed as celiac disease, Casey initially placed the blame squarely on herself.

“I maintained that the situation was absolutely serious and that it was my fault, that what needed to be fixed was me,” he wrote in the opinion piece.

Once the diagnosis finally came through and she found out that Max had celiac disease, “she was really flooded mostly with relief in the sense of having an answer.”

Since then, her impostor syndrome has ‘raised so much’ and ‘I have less tolerance for beating myself up. We are all doing our best.
