Casemiro skips Man United’s FA Cup celebrations as the Brazilian makes a quick getaway from Wembley… amid doubts over the midfielder’s Old Trafford future

Manchester United’s players partied late into the night after Erik ten Hag’s side claimed FA Cup glory, but Casemiro quickly escaped the celebrations.

The Red Devils recorded a 2-1 victory over rival Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

Ten Hag’s side had gone into the match as clear underdogs against their neighbors, who were trying to complete a double after winning their fourth consecutive Premier League.

Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo were on target for Man United as they upset their chances to win the FA Cup for the 13th time.

As Man United’s stars brought the post-match celebrations from the Wembley dressing room to an after-party, Casemiro appeared to skip the festivities.

The Man United midfielder was instead pictured on social media while on holiday with his family.

Casemiro’s wife Anna Mariana shared a photo of the couple on a flight with their two children, Sara and Caio.

Anna Mariana, who married Casemiro in 2014, captioned the photo as “gone on holiday.”

Casemiro’s absence from the celebrations comes after a difficult second season at Man United for the Brazilian midfielder.

The 32-year-old has come in for criticism, especially in the latter part of the season when he was forced to play as a centre-back.

He had fired back at his critics in an interview with Sky Sports earlier this month.

Casemiro said: ‘I was considered one of the Premier League’s best signings last season, and now I’m worthless?’

‘The criticism is disrespectful. So if there is no respect, then it is concerning, and I don’t have to respect that.’

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher recently claimed that Casemiro should ‘call it a day’ and move to Saudi Arabia or the MLS after his disappointing performance against Crystal Palace.

‘I think that Casemiro, dead seriously, needs to know himself tonight as an experienced player that he only has three games left to play at the top level. The next two league games and the [FA] cup final,” Carragher said after Man United’s 4-0 defeat.

“And he should be thinking, ‘I have to go to MLS or Saudi.’ I’m dead serious. He is getting older, the people around him have to tell him that this has to stop.

“He’s been absolutely amazing. I’m nowhere near the level of what that man has achieved. Champions Leagues, playing for Brazil, playing for Real Madrid.

‘But I always remember something when I retired, there was a saying that I always remember as a footballer: “Leave football before football leaves you”.

‘Football has left him at this top level. He needs to stop this level of football and move on.”

Although Casemiro has defended himself against criticism, the midfielder was left out of the Copa America squad despite being named his country’s captain last year.

Casemiro withdrew from Man United’s Wembley squad after suffering muscle soreness during the warm-up.

The Brazilian was named by Erik ten Hag on the team sheet as one of the substitutes, but United’s club website had him absent, causing some confusion.

The club later confirmed that Casemiro had suffered an injury and was unable to play in the match. Reports from ESPN Brazil claimed that Casemiro is not actually injured.
