Caroline Springs Shopping Centre attack: Cops make a grisly find after stabbing attack in shopping centre car park left teen fighting for life

A severed finger has reportedly been found in a parking lot after a teenager was allegedly stabbed with a knife and was in critical condition.

According to 7NEWS, the finger was found by a police officer.

Emergency services were called to Lake St., near the Caroline Springs shopping center, at approximately 5:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Armed criminals are said to have gotten out of a car and approached the teenager in an alley, before attacking him.

The teenager suffered stab wounds to his hand and upper body.

He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries, while the alleged assailants fled in the car before police arrived.

Photos from the crime scene show blood-stained clothing left behind on a nearby sidewalk.

A Victoria Police spokesperson did not reveal whether a finger was found at the crime scene.

It was previously reported that the knife-wielding attackers filmed their teenage victim as he lay unconscious and bleeding on the ground, while a heroic, blood-soaked Good Samaritan tried to save his life.

The man who went to the aid of the stabbed boy said the attackers stood by heartlessly as the victim bled on the concrete. Some filmed the horrific scene on their phones, but only one person offered aid to the fallen teenager.

The man told the Herald Sun he feared the boy would die as he desperately held his head off the ground.

“He was conscious intermittently throughout the entire process. I was just trying to keep him awake and alive,” the man said.

‘From the wounds I saw, I could tell it (a weapon) was something big. It wasn’t a kitchen knife or a household knife, it definitely looked like a machete.

‘There was blood everywhere, all over me.

‘I saw so many people standing there, so many people who didn’t help anyone, except for one person.’

“Detectives are still trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and inquiries are ongoing, but it is believed the offenders have left the area,” a Victoria Police statement said.

Officers searched for witnesses to the bloodshed and spoke to local business owners and shoppers.

The incident was reportedly captured on CCTV and police will use the footage as part of their investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
