Carolina Panthers fans FUME as it emerges owner’s wife was asked for input during 2024 NFL Draft
Carolina Panthers fans were outraged when they learned that owner David Tepper’s wife Nicole was asked for her opinion during the draft in April.
On July 3, a video went viral showing Nicole joining the team’s staff in the “war room” during the draft, seemingly giving her opinion on their selections.
“He was like, ‘Would you trade for…'” Nicole whispers in the clip as head coach Dave Canales looks on. “For the guy I like, I said, ‘Yeah.'”
Given the state of the team, which went 2-15 last season, fans reacted with outrage when the owner’s wife was asked which players she wanted to draft. Meanwhile, fans of other teams trolled the Carolina fan base over the clip.
“Damn. I thought my Cowboys were bad,” one user wrote.

“Poor Panthers fans lmao,” another added. “Tepper is the new Dan Snyder.”
“They’re running out of new content to slander us with,” said one Panthers fan, while another said, “Tepper needs to sell the team.”
“This franchise is going to be a disaster as long as Tepper is around,” said a third.
While many were unhappy with Nicole’s involvement, some fans stood up for her and criticized her for her sexism.
“Why is this crazy,” one user asked. “Because she’s a woman and men think women shouldn’t be allowed to work in sports, let alone talk about it.”
“Okay, and men tell their wives everything,” wrote another. “Why is this wrong? We’re all equal. They’ve been in this for a while. But I’m not saying David is the best for this.”
Carolina fans have been calling for Tepper to sell the team since he took over as owner in 2018

While most were outraged, some fans stood up for Nicole Tepper in the comments
Tepper took over the Panthers two years after playing in the 2016 Super Bowl, and the franchise has since relegated to a dismal 31-61 record.
The Panthers selected WR Xavier Legette from South Carolina with the 32nd pick in the draft. They then took RB Jonathan Brooks, ILB Trevin Wallace and TE Ja’Tavion Sanders in the second, third and fourth rounds, respectively.
In the later rounds they selected CB Chau Smith-Wade, DT Jaden Crumedy and LB Michael Barrett.
The picks will have to make an impact as their team hopes to emerge from a slump that has one of the worst NFL records in history, having posted a league-worst 2-15 record last season and missing their sixth consecutive postseason.
