Many women would be embarrassed if one of their shoes fell off in public, but it is a common accident.

Several members of the royal family have faced similar situations when their stilettos became tangled in grass or grilles during official engagements.

Earlier this month, Carole Middleton found herself in such a predicament at Royal Ascot, before Prince William came to her rescue.

And there have been more cases like this, involving the likes of Catherine, Princess of Wales and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
