Carol has embarked on an incredible body transformation over the past few months and she recently stayed at the exclusive Juice Master retreat in Portugal.

The former Countdown host has been showing off the results of her fitness program on her Instagram page in recent weeks.

Carol turned up a storm for a mirror selfie in a sassy, ​​figure-hugging outfit after dropping a dress size during fitness retreat.

Last year she also revealed that she had started intermittent fasting and regular workouts.

Carol recently stayed at the exclusive Juice Master retreat in Portugal, where guests can enjoy access to a spa, daily yoga, meditation and exercise against a beautiful woodland backdrop.

Guests are supported in the winter months by a mixture of juices, smoothies and hot soups.

Carol narrated the visit on social media, revealing that she only gave herself juice for 15 of the 18 days she stayed at the retreat. The other three days she went to restaurants.

She posted on Instagram: ‘I’ve dropped over a dress size and am bursting with energy. I haven’t worn these shorts in a few years and now they are loose. boommm.

My other half here @jules__sampson has dropped TWO dress sizes and looks incredible and feels so strong. It’s a special place here. So relaxed and happy. Jason created the magic well.”

The TV star also relies on the help of a personal trainer – a Welsh rugby captain – to push her harder with weights.

Carol has shared videos and photos documenting her workout regimen at home and in the gym, which includes exercises such as push-ups, hip thrusts and resistance bands.

She explained that working with a PT helps her as she gets older to stick to a strict fitness regimen and stay in shape.

About getting more confident as she gets older, Carol previously told MailOnline: “I’m staying fit, I’ve started with a new coach, a rugby captain in Wales and we had a good laugh. He’s pushing me harder now with weights.

“They’re the weights you’ll need as you get older because I’m pretty happy with my body weight.

“I don’t really know what I weigh, but I’m happy, I don’t have to go on a diet or anything like that.”

Carol also manages her health by eating healthy, nutritious meals, as well as incorporating intermittent fasting to help her body recover.

Intermittent fasting is a type of time-restricted diet in which fasters leave a long time between their last meal of one day and the first of the next.

Research shows that intermittent fasting is one way to control weight and improve health.

Last year on Instagram, the TV host shared that she started intermittent fasting.

She said, “I’m back on my intermittent fasting. The last time I ate was 6pm last night and I walked five miles.

She has been very open with her fans about her fasting habits, sharing her early routine, writing, ‘So I’m doing this intermittent fasting. I’ve been without food for 20 hours, didn’t feel a bit hungry and now I have real bacon – not the kind of junk – and fresh, fresh, local eggs, everything local and I can’t wait.”

Intermittent fasting works by extending the length of time your body has burned the calories expended during your last meal and begins to burn fat.

She’s also a big fan of detoxing twice a year, which reduces inflammation, purifies your blood, boosts your circulation and aids weight loss.
