Carol Vorderman recently enjoyed a very lavish getaway to her native Wales, where she stayed in a luxurious eight-bedroom house costing £8,000 a week.

The former Countdown star, 62, took to Instagram last week to share an insight into her month-long trip to Anglesey, praising her Hen Cymyran holiday home.

She described the lavish eight-bedroom, seven-bathroom home as her “favorite home in the world” as she shared a slew of snaps from her stay.

The luxury home costs around £7,995 for 15 guests to stay for seven nights during peak season, according to quotes on Boltholes and Hideaways.

The beautiful oceanfront estate, which can accommodate up to 15 guests, overlooks the beach and features steps leading down to the sand and a small private dock.

The house is fully equipped with a hot tub that can accommodate eight people, which overlooks the sea while standing on a patio with an L-shaped sofa.

There is also an outdoor gas barbecue and outdoor toilets, while the living room offers incredible panoramic sea views.

The property is perfect for entertaining as it boasts a dining area that seats 16 and a modern kitchen with two double electric ovens and a pizza oven.

It also has a separate utility room and two bathrooms on the ground floor, plus a further five amenities, including en suites, on the first floor.

The house, which has three floors, features a master bedroom with a double bed on the ground floor, with access to the garden through large patio doors.

On the first floor is the master bedroom with a super king size bed and stunning coastal views through the ceiling to floor viewing windows.

There are also a further five bedrooms on the first floor, while the final eighth bedroom is located at the top of a spiral staircase on the second floor.

Last week, Carol didn’t shy away from documenting her lavish journey, taking to Instagram to share snaps of the breathtaking sea view from the master bedroom.

She also posted beautiful snaps from her kayaking, as she revealed in a caption that she will be staying on the property for a month in June to see her family.

She wrote: ‘My favorite house in the world. So I’m Welsh…go home for a month in June and rent the most beautiful house in the world.

‘All my family, cousins, nieces, nephews, little ones… come over and stay and we lounge around on the little beach, paddle boards, kids in the hot tub, wake up and walk 3 miles on an empty beach for a cup of coffee in the village.

‘No make-up. Don’t care about anything. Chill and laugh and smile. Yes. Good Lord…

‘Look at the view from the bedroom. Never want to leave.

“It is quite fully booked, but I think there are still a few weeks available this year. Already jealous of everyone who can come and live here xx

“(By the way, it’s not gifted in case anyone thinks) Just thought I’d share…wind or rain…no glamour, no updo, just happy.”

Carol’s main home is in Bristol, but she divides her time between the city, Cardiff and West Wales.

Talking to Hello! Magazine in 2021, Carol admitted she hopes to one day live in Wales full-time.

‘I am a hobo; I’ve always been a wanderer. I like building houses, but I don’t really want to be in them,” she explained.

‘I live between West Wales, a bit of Cardiff and Bristol. I think that will gradually become all of Wales. Fast better. I’m Welsh and I love it.

‘I want to spend a lot less time in London working – that’s a decision of mine. I only do the things I want to do.’
