Carol Vorderman has revealed her unlikely link to fellow radio star Chris Moyles, discussing his performance on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

The Countdown star, 61, said the Radio 1 DJ, 48, was her ‘little helper’ getting records when he was just eight years old, after writing on her radio show.

Discussing Chris’ jungle period on Wednesday’s This Morning, Carol also admitted she’s concerned he comes across as “aggressive” on the show, after furiously accusing Boy George of stealing his towel on Thursday’s show.

Carol revealed her connection to Chris as she and This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield discussed his upcoming Bushtucker Trial, Boiling Point.

She said, “I’ve known Chris since he was eight years old. He was my little helper on the radio.

‘In the 1980s in Leeds I had a request program for children. And I got a note from an eight-year-old child, saying: Can I come and help you and get the music from the music library, the records.

A stunned Holly yelled, “No way! Oh that’s really cute.’

Carol then admitted she was concerned about Chris appearing “aggressive” during his time in the jungle.

She explained, “Chris, I don’t think he’s coming across as well as he’d hoped, I don’t think.

“I think he comes across as quite aggressive, which I don’t think he is… I like Chris, but he looks really scared in this case, I really do.”

Holly then commented that Chris’ nature could be caused by his “dry sense of humour,” adding, “Holly suggested that the ‘aggressiveness’ could be down to his sense of humour, adding, ‘He’s pretty dry, he has a pretty dry sense of humour. Do you think that’s it?’

Carol agreed, saying, “He is, I think it is.”

Viewers will see Chris tackle the next Bushtucker Trial, titled Boiling Point, on Wednesday’s episode.

The DJ will once again fight for food for the camp after bagging just three of the eleven possible meals in Tuesday’s challenge, alongside Boy George, 61, and Babatúndé Aléshé, 34.

In a first clip of the episode, Chris is shown entering a room with a kettle, wearing a helmet and goggles.

He yells, “Please don’t teach me anything yet!”

He then has to find miniature wrenches to unscrew a star from the wall, while all kinds of gruesome things fall on his head.

Struggling to find the right key, he is infested with cockroaches, causing him to yell, “Don’t do that to me!”

Host Dec helpfully points out, “Only cockroaches so far.”

Chris replies sarcastically, “Thanks for that guys, I thought they were just cockroaches, you know what I mean?”

Chris has some trouble unscrewing the star, despite advice from Ant and Dec.

Dec says, “Leftie loosey righty tighty,” while Ant advises, “Chris holds the star with one hand and moves the key with the other.”

He then jokes, “Obviously he doesn’t do odd jobs in his own house.”

It comes after Chris was left furious after a fellow camp mate stole his towel.

After a mysterious person continued to use his towel, the self-professed germaphobe told his fellow camp mates, “I don’t want to dry with the stench of your balls!”

Later in the Bush Telegraph, Chris said, “This hurts me, I like to be as clean as possible. And I’m dirty. I do not like it. I think I know who it is. [Boy] George.’

The outburst occurred after the broadcaster searched high and low for the towel around the camp.

Gathering his fellow celebrities, he said: “Guys, at the risk of sounding like a germaphobe with cleanliness issues, is there a chance that when I dry off my towel and go get it the next day, it’s still there?”

He continued, “Three days in a row and I’m going to make it and it’s not there.” As much as I really like you, I don’t want to dry my body with the stench of your balls.’

In the meantime Culture Club singer Boy George offered: “They should have embossed our names on the towels.”

Camp leader Matt Hancock, 44, said in his confessional: “As a leader, when there’s a problem, it’s about just trying to find a solution that everyone is happy with. This is a happy camp and I want to keep it that way.’

Keen to keep Chris happy, Sue Cleaver, 59, said, “I think we’ll add up all the towels and today we’ll do a mass wash of all the towels and then redistribute them.”

Chris replied, “Oh no, that doesn’t justify it, it’s too much.”

But Matt said, “I think that’s a really good idea,” while comedian Seann joked, “The leader has spoken!”.

I’m a celebrity, get me out of here! continues on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV1. This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
