Carol Vorderman has revealed in an exciting Instagram post that she made her British Vogue debut at the age of 62.

The presenter shared a video of herself flipping through the iconic September issue to social media on Wednesday, as she revealed she was on the magazine’s famed Vogue 25 list.

The clip featured Carol flipping through the magazine while sitting in her garden joking that she was “not sure” how she qualified for the coveted tome.

She said, “Vogue September — I’ll tell you what, I’m really happy to have been chosen by Vogue to be a part of their — it’s an annual event — Vogue 25, where they pick 25 women,” she said against the camera, as Madonna’s classic song Vogue played.

“The other 24 are incredible, while I’m not sure how I slipped in.”

“But if you want to look, I’m on page 195,” she chuckled, then exclaimed, “First time in Vogue!”

In her post, Carol, who recently showed off her impressive flexibility in the kitchen, added: “BRITISH VOGUE @britishvogue ❤️ So this is what it looks like… A little crazy here…”

It comes after Carol revealed she recently had a terrifying cancer scare after losing her mother to the disease.

She became concerned after noticing changes in her skin and after having a skin biopsy taken she found that some of the skin cells were pre-cancerous.

Her own mother passed away in 2017 after suffering from three types of cancer, the last of which was melanoma.

Speaking to Boots, who work with Macmillan Cancer Support to defend sun safety, Carol shared her experience raising awareness.

She said, “In my late 40s I could see there were little irregularities on my skin, so I went to see a dermatologist.

“(I had) a biopsy and a few of them were pre-cancerous. You hear that word and it’s very frightening.’

“She never sunbathed once in her life – my mother had different skin than me, she had moles, I didn’t,” said Carol. “I know that makes you much more susceptible to melanoma.

She added: ‘With what I’ve been through, protecting my skin, my mother with the melanoma and then dying, it’s really important to me and my family (in support) what Boots does to help customers stay safe in the sun. to stay .

“Always wear a hat, always slather yourself with SPF 50, check yourself, and if you come across something get it checked as soon as possible.”

Carol’s mother – who was known as Jean, but her real name was Edwina – had been diagnosed with terminal cancer just three months before her death.

She had battled three different cancers over the past twelve years, with Carol previously revealing that her mother had been treated for skin cancer and kidney cancer, as well as had an ovarian tumor removed.

New figures show that skin cancer diagnosis in melanoma has reached an all-time high across all age groups, with 17,500 people being diagnosed each year in Britain.
