Carol Vorderman details why her relationships with her ‘five special friends’ works

Carol Vorderman has been very open about the fact that she has five “special friends” that she has relationships with, though she has previously said that she “doesn’t have one-night stands.”

And in a new interview with You magazine, the 62-year-old TV presenter has said that everything is working out very well for her because she doesn’t want to be in love and she’s not jealous.

Carol said that all of her lovers are single, and she said that she wouldn’t mind if any of her lovers fell in love with someone else and moved on.

One thing that has surely connected Carol with a younger generation is her attitude towards dating and her willingness to talk about it openly, if not in lewd detail.

“Oh yeah, yeah, my ‘special friends,'” she said. ‘I’m still using that system and it’s working very well.’

‘It’s going VERY well’: Carol Vorderman, 62, has said her relationship with her ‘five special friends’ works because she ‘doesn’t want to be in love and she’s not a jealous person’

There are five of them. She said: ‘One has been friends for 11 years, one for seven. My children [Katie, 31, and Cameron, 25]he knows most of them.

Carol admitted that she enjoys the independence and freedom that the setup gives her, saying it’s okay with partners wanting more intimacy than she offers, “as long as you’re honest and having fun.”

Everyone involved is single, she works on the principle that you should “do no harm”, and if one knows someone else, that would be fine.

She continued: ‘I’m not a jealous person and I’m happy when my friends are happy, whether they’re ‘special friends’ or not.

‘The goal of my life is to be happy, not to be in love. I just found interesting people and interesting life.

‘And you can get to a stage where you choose which bits you enjoy. You can’t at 30 because you’re working your way up in your career, you’re in debt to bosses and all that sort of thing. But at 60…’

Carol has been single since she separated from journalist Des Kelly in 2007, after being married twice, first to Christopher Mather from 1985 to 1986 and then to her second husband Patrick King from 1990 to 2000, the father of her two children.

She has become something of a social media star thanks to some of her sexy posts in which she wears tight workout clothes and dresses.

Sexy: Carol shared some seriously sexy Instagram photos on Sunday of her wearing this daring bodycon dress.

An icon of body positivity almost by default, she doesn’t care about the recent return of skinny models to the runways. “That’s the fashion,” she says. ‘I’ve always had a big ass’

Carol works out in the gym and is a strong supporter of health treatments: fasting, turmeric, hyperbaric oxygen therapy…

To stimulate mitochondria in regenerating cells and help stave off dementia, take spermidine tablets. ‘Named after you might imagine because that’s where she first met,’ she laughed.

But these tablets are not made of that.

Take care of what you drink ‘because I can’t stand my hangover’, he has not had surgery and admits Botox and P3 facial injections.

‘Tell me anyone on television, male or female, of any age, who doesn’t have these things!’ she says. “But I often don’t brush my hair for days.”
