This isn’t the first time Carol has candidly discussed the reasons she’s dating multiple men after telling the Loose Women panel earlier this year that she’d chosen.

She continued: ‘You know, I don’t really want to get married anymore. I don’t want to live with a man anymore. Have to take care of him all the time. But this is a time to break this nonsense taboo, which is that a person should only look for one other person who will satisfy everything in their life. That’s hell.’

Adding her ‘special friends’ Carol explained: ‘They don’t know each other, but they know about it. It’s a very honest relationship.

“One of them is many years beyond my marriage. Yes, it is more than 10 years. Another is 7. He is an astronaut. He called me from the space station.’

Carol has been single since she split from journalist Des Kelly in 2007 Married twice, first to Christopher Mather from 1985 to 1986 and then to second husband Patrick King from 1990 to 2000. The couple share two children.
