Cruise ship horror as passenger dies swimming off ‘Mystery Island’

A passenger on a cruise ship departing from Sydney on May 15 has died while swimming in Vanuatu.
Carnival Australia has confirmed that the Carnival Splendor passenger has died on Mystery Island.
“Carnival Cruise Line is deeply saddened by the death of a guest on Mystery Island following what appears to be a medical condition while swimming,” the cruise line said in a statement.
“Our care team is supporting the guest’s family along with other guests during this difficult time.”

That’s what a passenger on board said 7NEWS the passenger died while snorkeling.
The ship was on a nine-day voyage around the South Pacific and will arrive back in Sydney on Wednesday, May 24.
