Carl Froch slammed Jake Paul after he was beaten by Tommy Fury on Sunday night, calling the ‘terrible’ YouTuber-turned-boxer ‘unlucky’ and ‘basic’.

Fury defeated Paul via split decision in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night, with one judge scoring 75-74 for Paul and the other two scoring 76-73 for Fury.

Froch said Fury “destroyed” Paul and credited the 23-year-old Will with doing “professional boxing purists a huge favor by shutting Jake Paul up.”

Speaking after the fight, Froch said: “I had the scorecard exactly the same as two of the judges: 76-73. [in favour of Tommy Fury].

‘I thought the score was fine, to be honest. The point deductions were a bit iffy, but the referee balanced them by taking a point from both fighters.

Carl Froch slammed Jake Paul after Tommy Fury punched him on Sunday night, calling the “terrible” YouTuber-turned-boxer “unlucky” and “basic” after the fight in Saudi Arabia.

One judge scored the grudge match 75-74 for Paul and the other two awarded it 76-73 for Fury.

Froch said Fury has done professional boxing purists a huge favor by shutting up Jake Paul.

‘I thought the score was right, the right man won. Tommy Fury had a decent performance for the level he is at in his career.

‘That was a decent performance. He put his shots together, he believed in himself. He was on the defensive for long periods of the fight looking for the counter.

“He got a fully deserved win against a really basic, hapless Jake Paul. He was terrible in there.

He went on to add: “You’ve done professional boxing purists a huge favor by shutting Jake Paul up.” He can’t call himself a professional boxer because he went up against a rookie pro and they gave him a standing ovation. They deleted it.

Froch’s comments about Paul came just days after he said he would put the YouTuber-turned-boxer “into a fucking orbit.”

Paul reignited his war of words with former super middleweight world champion Froch earlier this week.

Paul tweeted: ‘Carl Froch angry that I made more in a year than he did in his entire career. You want payday. I understand.

‘So let’s do this, let’s fight Anderson Silva on my next card and if you’re lucky and you beat him, then we can get in the ring and make your career payday. Let me know.’

Froch replied: ‘So, Jake Paul has called me on his social media. He apparently wants to fight me. In case you didn’t know, my last fight was at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 fans.

‘I will not fight mixed martial arts legend Anderson Silva on your card. I have too much respect for him. And your punch when you hit it, did that even land? very doubtful

You have a job to do against Tommy Fury. If by some miracle you manage to beat Tommy Fury, then I’ll listen to you.

‘I’ll have a little chat with you and see what crap comes out of your mouth. See what you have to say.

‘But until then, don’t talk about me in the same league as you. I am four times world champion. Two WBC titles there. You will never, ever have one of them.

‘You’re not good enough. You are not a professional wrestler. You are an acting clown. That is all you are.

So keep my name out of your mouth until you’ve done something in the game. I think this weekend your world ends.

“But if it’s not, and you’re stupid enough to fight me, when this right hand lands on your chin, it’ll send you into orbit and knock that stupid barnet off your head.” head.’

Froch called Paul a “clown” in the buildup to his highly anticipated fight with Fury on Sunday after the YouTuber-turned-boxer called out the former super middleweight world champion.

Froch claims if a retired world champion were to fight Paul it would be a ‘mismatch’

Froch went on to talk about how it wouldn’t take long for him to come out of retirement for the hypothetical fight, but insisted it would be a “mismatch.”

“It wouldn’t take that much to fight Jake Paul, it wouldn’t take £30m,” the former pro, who has won 33 of his 35 pro fights, told IFL TV.

“If a fight with Jake Paul actually happened and he thought to himself, ‘Yeah, I’ll take on Froch,’ which he would never do, because it would be ridiculous.

‘He may be 45 years old, but any retired professional world champion who is still in good shape would have no problem playing Jake Paul. It would be like a mismatch.
