A man has been charged after a four-year-old girl’s leg was broken when she was allegedly hit by a man riding an e-scooter in a shopping centre.

Police were called to a shopping center on Main Road, Cardiff, in the Lake Macquarie area of ​​NSW, after reports that a child had been injured.

A man riding an electric scooter reportedly lost control before the scooter crashed into the girl in front of him grabbed his scooter and left the scene.

Police have released CCTV footage in an appeal for public information after a toddler’s leg was broken in the Hunter. A 37-year-old man was later arrested

The child was treated by NSW paramedics for a broken leg and a cut to her face before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

She had surgery on Friday.

NSW Police released CCTV footage of a man they wanted to speak to about the incident on Thursday afternoon.

Following an investigation and a public appeal for information, officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District arrested a man at Belmont Police Station about 12.30pm on Friday.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm by negligence (vehicle) and riding an electric scooter on a footpath.

He has been granted conditional bail.

He will appear in Belmont Local Court on November 29.
