Cardiff City sack manager Mark Hudson after 1-1 draw with Wigan

Cardiff City manager Mark Hudson sacked after a 1–1 draw against struggling Wigan, with the Bluebirds sitting just three points above the Championship relegation zone.

Cardiff parted ways with manager Mark Hudson after drawing 1-1 with Wigan on Saturday.

The result would have been frustrating for the club, as Kolo Toure’s bottom side snatched a point in stoppage time after losing each of their last three games 4-1.

The Bluebirds now sit just three points above the relegation zone after dropping points in what could turn out to be a vital game.

Hudson had been named acting boss in September before being offered the permanent job in November.

He will now leave the club after winning just four of his 18 games in charge, a run that has seen the Bluebirds rise to 21st in the Championship.

A statement issued by the club announcing Hudson’s sacking read: “The Board of Directors would like to place on record their appreciation to Mark for all his work as a player, coach and manager while with the Bluebirds.” We wish Mark all the best of luck for the future.

‘Tom Ramasut will remain as assistant manager and will be supported by goalkeeping coach Graham Stack. The Club’s search for a new permanent manager will begin immediately.’

They also announced that Dean Whitehead will lead the team as interim coach for the time being.
