Cara Delevingne responds to suggestions she has shut down grid chat with Sky Sports’ Martin Brundle, leaving F1 legend furious at grand prix
Cara Delevingne has spoken out after the awkward moment she seemingly left a British racing legend high and dry on the grid at Sunday’s British Grand Prix.
Former British driver turned announcer Martin Brundle, 64, was covering the live action from Silverstone when the 30-year-old model declined his request for a chat.
Martin approached the supermodel with a Sky Sports F1 microphone but Martin was quickly told by an apparent security aide that “she doesn’t want to talk.”
Unperturbed, the racer turned announcer was clearly eager to make his talk anyway, saying: ‘That’s the deal now, everyone is talking on the grid’, to which Cara replied: ‘I can’t hear anything, sorry’, as the Red Arrows roared above their heads.
The supermodel, who was seen in a chic black pantsuit with a matching bra underneath and a black baseball cap, curtly said ‘no’, shook her head, before repeating ‘no’ again.

Martin was clearly frustrated and told her: ‘The deal is that everyone on the grid has to speak…’
Unimpressed, Martin responded with more than a hint of sarcasm, telling viewers, “Okay, I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting,” after which the model gave a thumbs up to the camera.
Later in the day on Sunday, Cara took to Twitter to further comment on the interaction.
She reposted a tweet that read, “Right now Martin Brundle is just doing it to create the moment for the controversy of it all.

Many of those who watched the clip as it originally aired on television expressed outrage at her reaction to Martin, although some said she had every right to say no to an on-camera interview.
