Cara Delevingne opts for a casual look in a black sweatshirt and joggers as she strolls through NYC

Cara Delevingne cut a very casual figure on Thursday as she strolled around New York City with her celebrity friends Samara Weaving and Ashley Cook.

The model, 30, opted for a very different look from her glamorous Met Gala show on Monday.

Cara wore a black sweatshirt from Elton John’s Welcome To Yellow Brick Road merchandise, which she paired with black sweatpants in tribute to the music legend’s farewell tour.

Her laid-back look was emphasized by a brown beanie and white sneakers as she enjoyed spending some quality time with her friends.

Cara appeared deep in conversation with actress Samara and Selena Gomez’s friend Ashley.

The Paper Towns star went makeup free to show off her natural and enviable features.

Meanwhile, her hair was back to normal style in a chic shoulder-length cut, after she showed off a silver wig at the Met Gala.

Her casual appearance came after her costumed appearance at the Met Gala earlier this week, where she paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld in a silver wig and white hooded shirt dress.

When the ‘genius’ German designer died in 2019 at the age of 85 from complications of pancreatic cancer – the British 30-year-old wrote that he was “one of the most interesting and caring men I have ever met.”

“It’s a big night, yes, a lot of emotions to be honest. I cried a little bit along the way,” Cara — who created a “Cara Loves Karl” capsule collection last year — admitted to Fashion on Monday.

“It’s amazing to be able to do this and honor such an incredible person – not just in fashion, but personally as a friend. I owe him so much and it’s a great way to remember him.”

Delevingne transformed into “Cara Lagerfeld” by donning a “silver-blue” Noah Scott short wig, which was cut into textured waves by hairstylist Danielle Priano.

Meanwhile, the star’s beauty look was created by makeup artist Hung Vanngo – who revealed that he prepped the supermodel’s skin with Cetaphil products to avoid aggravating her psoriasis.

The Carnival Row star wore a custom white Karl Lagerfeld mini shirt dress, black thigh-high leg warmers, matching stilettos, fingerless gloves and Chrome Hearts jewelry selected by styling duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn.

Karl – who first hired Cara in 2012 – was rarely seen without one of his iconic white shirts, of which he says he has had “thousands”.

It was Delevingne’s 11th time attending the Costume Institute’s $50,000/ticket benefit, and enlisted makeup artist Hung Vanngo and nail technician Thuy Nguyen to complete her special look for the evening.

The Tell It Like a Woman actress was shaken up after “heartbreaking” footage published by DailyMail.com last year forced her to check herself into a $50,000/month rehab Cirque Lodge in Utah for mental health issues last December and substance abuse.

On Monday, Cara — with 64.1 million social media followers — shared a Instagram slideshow of her Met Gala look with the caption, “This one’s for you KL.”

“She’s the it girl of the moment because she’s not fake,” said Lagerfeld gushed by Delevingne in 2013.

‘She’s a real person. There is something genuine and caring about her. She’s not fake. [I worked with her] when she was unknown, well, because from the moment I saw her, I knew something was up [special about her].’

The Only Murders in the Building star has been hard at work filming her mystery role opposite Emma Roberts in the 12th season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s FX horror anthology series, American Horror Story.

Cara – who has ADHD – is currently dating singer Minke following her past pansexual romances with Ashley Benson, Paris Jackson, St. Vincent, Michelle Rodriguez, Jake Bugg and Miley Cyrus.

But no one would know Delevingne if she hadn’t been the nepotistically privileged granddaughter of publishing magnate Sir Jocelyn Stevens and goddaughter of Joan Collins.

The decision to honor Karl has sparked controversy given the many offensive comments he’s made over the years, from criticizing the #MeToo movement to opposing same-sex marriage.

“I’m against it for a very simple reason: in the ’60s they all said we were entitled to the difference. And now all of a sudden they want a civil life,” he told Vice about same-sex marriage.

‘It’s hard to imagine – one of the daddies at work and the other at home with the baby. What would that be like for the baby? Don’t know. I see more lesbians married with babies than boys married with babies. And I also believe more in the relationship between mother and child than in that between father and child.’

Although he eventually expressed his support for same-sex marriage at his Chanel haute couture show in the spring of 2013, he still said he was “less enthusiastic” about adopting same-sex children, according to the AP.
