As Harry looked on, an emotional Stevie told the crowd: “I just want you to know that Christine was my girl and she loved us all and today was her birthday.”

‘You all helped me get through it [her death] and I want you to know how much I appreciate that’.

Before he said to Harry, ‘Harry, I thank you, we thank you!’.

Stevie previously revealed that Christine’s death was the final nail in the coffin of their legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac after five decades.

The classic lineup – featuring John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood – last performed together during their MusiCares tribute at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan in 2018.

Shortly afterwards, Buckingham was fired and replaced by singer-guitarist Mike Campbell and musician Neil Finn, who joined Fleetwood Mac for their 88-date An Evening with Fleetwood Mac tour in 2018–2019.

“We had a really great time and it was a great tour. That was in the realm of possibility,” the 75-year-old rock queen said. Vulture.

“But when Christine died, I thought, you can’t replace her. You just can’t. Without her, what is it? You know what I mean? She was like my soul mate, my musical soul mate, and my best friend who I spent more time with than any other best friend outside of Fleetwood Mac.”

Stevie (born Stephanie) compared her relationship with the British keyboardist/singer to Taylor Swift’s 2022 song You’re on Your Own, Kid, in which she wrote the line “you always have been.”

“That was Christine and I. We were on our own in that band. We always were. We protected each other,” Nicks explained.

“Who am I going to look at on the right and not have them standing there behind that Hammond organ? When she died, I thought, we really can’t go on with this. There’s no reason for this.”

The Fleetwood Mc drummer said he still hopes Buckingham and lead singer Stevie can bury the hatchet.

The band co-founder stressed that a peaceful resolution between the two former bandmates and lovers does not necessarily mean Fleetwood Mac will come back to life.

“It’s not a secret, it’s not a rumour that there’s an emotional wall,” the British musician, 77, said Mojo of the troubled relationship between Buckingham and Nicks, which dates back to the 1960s.

He added: ‘Stevie can clearly express how she feels and doesn’t feel, as can Lindsey. But I would personally like to see some healing between them – and that doesn’t necessarily have to take the form of a tour.’
