Shocking footage reveals how a driver “intentionally” crashed his car into the second floor of a Pennsylvania home after flying off the road.
Firefighters admitted they had to think ‘outside the box’ to bring the vehicle down, while the driver was transported to a local hospital on Sunday after the accident.
The Junction Fire Company said it was on the scene within minutes of the accident, which occurred in Decatur Township in Mifflin County.
It’s still unclear exactly how the eyebrow-raising collision happened, but Junction Fire reportedly noted that there’s a culvert next to the house – a large tunnel under the road.
However, Pennsylvania State Police found during their investigation that the crash was “an intentional act” and that “charges are pending against the driver,” police said. ABC27.
A spokesman said the crash was due to “the driver’s attempt to self-injure due to a mental health episode.”

After racing to the scene after reports of a “vehicle accident,” firefighters were surprised to find the driver already out of the hanging car.
Junction Fire said they found only one vehicle involved in the accident, and they worked quickly to stabilize the home to prevent further damage.
Crews also covered the huge hole with tarp due to fears of an incoming storm.
“The crew had to think outside the box to temporarily stabilize the vehicle until it was time to remove it,” a spokesman said. FOX television stations.
The agency shared the stunning photos of the rescue on Facebook, which spread quickly as people couldn’t believe how the car landed in the house.
One of the images was the room where the car ended up, which appeared to be a home gym, as there was a treadmill in the middle of the room, covered in dust from the wreckage.
The homeowners were also reportedly evaluated after the crash, but it is not known how many people were in the property when the car flew into the house. No one was taken to hospital.

It’s unclear how the crash happened, with footage showing the car landing in what appeared to be a home gym while a treadmill was caught in the dust from the wreckage.
Firefighters remained on site for several hours to stabilize the home and cover it with tarp to protect it from incoming storms
“Rescue Company recovered a vehicle from a building in Decatur Township tonight,” the department said in the post describing the accident.
Chief 17 arrived on scene within minutes and found a vehicle to the second floor with the patient out of the vehicle.
“The rescue crew has stabilized the house and helped the homeowners put a tarp over the hole because of the coming storms.”
Junction Fire added that it took several squads and fire engines, as well as help from other departments, including the police, to finally bring the car down.
The driver was transported to Geising Lewistown Hospital.
