Caprice reveals she believes cancel culture is ‘toxic’ as she insists on the importance of free speech: ‘We have to appreciate these rights and fight for them’

Caprice spoke out against cancel culture on Friday, calling it “toxic” at a Health and Wealth Summit in Tiverton.

The former model turned actor, 52, confessed she wants “no part” in cancel culture, as she warned: “I think we have to be very careful.”

Appearing on a panel alongside politician Nigel Farage, Caprice explained: ‘We are so fortunate to be able to live in this country and have freedom of speech. Don’t let anyone take that away.

“We must value these rights and fight for them.”

She continued, “I don’t want to be part of the cancel culture. We all make mistakes, but with cancel culture, whether you survive or not depends on who you are.

‘That’s not right, who are we to judge? I think we have to be very careful.’

As nearly 300 people lined up for a moment with the star, Caprice added: “People are trying to cancel freedom of speech. Some people just try to cancel someone because they have an opinion that is not acceptable to them.

“I really hope the toxic trend goes away.”

The summit, hosted by Michael Jackson’s former bodyguard and local Devon resident Matt Fiddes, provided an opportunity to gain insight from industry experts.

Posing alongside the former UKIP leader and Matt, Caprice found Nigel very charming and looking more handsome in real life than on TV screen

The pair were also joined for the event by Uri Geller and singer Michelle Heaton.

It comes after Caprice gave an exclusive insight into her wild life during an interview the My dirty laundry podcast earlier this week.

The star revealed that an A-list rock star once secretly flew her to LA First Class after meeting her at the 2001 MTV Awards.

She said, ‘Oh, it’s been so long. But do you remember Limp Bizkit? This guy named Fred Durst (the singer, now 53), he and I were kind of shaking… I presented an award and we were talking all night.

“My publicist looked at me and said, ‘Cap, it’s seven o’clock, you have a flight in an hour and a half,’ and I said, ‘Okay Fred, see you later.’

‘I got on the plane back to London and collapsed afterwards and then I got this text from Fred saying, ‘Hope you don’t mind, I’ve got your number but I’ve got a first class ticket to come to New York. Let’s have lunch”.

“I thought, ‘And what?’ Are you joking? And you know, back then I was of the opinion that I could do everything myself. I didn’t need anyone to buy me anything.

‘But I did anyway… I got on the plane and went to lunch with him and I realized he wasn’t for me, and then I got back on the plane and came back to London.

‘I certainly don’t have any ‘what if’ moments about it. I’ve done quite a lot in the past.’

Caprice revealed why she went so crazy on the date, saying, “Oh, it was a little empty, you know, the conversation. He’s a really nice guy. A super nice guy, but there was just no connection.’
