Capital’s Jordan North reveals he’ll be wearing a red thong to host his first Jingle Bell Ball – after taking a brutal swipe at his former Radio 1 show
Capital’s Jordan North has revealed he will wear a red thong to his first Jingle Bell Ball after taking a brutal swipe at his former Radio 1 show.
Radio’s annual Christmas bonanza will take place on December 7 and 8 at the O2 Arena and there’s already a stellar line-up, with the likes of Coldplay, Katy Perry and Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards getting ready to perform.
Jordan, 34, will join Capital presenter Chris Stark, 37, and Sian Welby, 38, in hosting this year’s Jingle Bell Ball.
When asked if he has a festive fancy dress planned for the big weekend, Jordan said, “I’m wearing my red thong!”
Sian asked, “Do you always do that though?”
To which Jordan responded, “Yes, I wear that all the time, so that’s what I’ll wear.”
Sian said: ‘He has his lucky string on everyone, and you only see it when he leans over. So throw something on stage and see how he picks it up. Get the cameras ready.”

When asked if he has a festive fancy dress planned for the big weekend, Jordan said, “I’m wearing my red thong!”
When asked about their favorite time of the year, Chris explained: “I would say this is the year of the North. Jordan joined the Capital Breakfast team earlier this year.
“I think doing that first show together was personally a very, very special moment in my life, and I hope you guys feel the same way, but it was the start of something that was very, very special this year.
“So probably the highlight of my year was that very first show and starting it and getting it going, and seeing the reactions that so many people have given us since we started this show. And I think the Jingle Bell Ball will be a bit of a celebration of that as well.”
Jordan said, “I agree that participating in Capital Breakfast has definitely been my favorite moment of my year!”
Sian added: “And mine too. We’re the three best friends!’ to which Jordan asked, “But you did have a baby?”
Sian replied: ‘I did have a baby. That was also a highlight. Yes, yes, I have baby brains. I completely forgot about that.’
Jordan recently took a brutal swipe at his former BBC Radio 1 show as he boasted about the listening figures of his Capital Breakfast show.
The radio DJ quit his Radio 1 show in February after ten years at the station, after he was offered to replace Roman Kemp’s position at Capital.

However, Jordan appeared to hint at a feud with his BBC Radio 1 bosses when he shouted: ‘We beat Radio 1’ during his appearance on Saturday Kitchen.
Jordan took part in the cooking show with his co-hosts Sian Welby, 38, and Chris Stark, 37, and explained that listening figures have increased since he took over the show in April.
He then added that there is a greater number of 15-24 year olds listening to their breakfast program compared to Radio 1.
He told host Matt Tebbutt: “Since we started in April the numbers have gone up so we’re doing well.”
Matt then added, “So the listenership is three million,” while Jordan added, “Yeah, it’s almost half a million that we added.”
“We’re beating Radio 1 on the younger audience too,” he added as Sian cheered.
Continuing to boast, he said: “We’ve got more 15 to 20 year olds listening to Capital Breakfast,” while Matt joked: “You know your numbers and he winked and agreed: ‘Oh, I know.’
As Chris tried to start speaking and divert the conversation, Jordan winked again and cupped his hands around his mouth as he shouted across the studio: “We’re beating Radio 1!”
Hinting at a feud, Matt asked, “Did you leave on good terms?”
Laughing, Jordan waved his hand in the air as he insisted: “We’re fine, we’re fine,” before shouting again: “We’ll beat them!”
