It is believed the body of a fisherman has been found at a remote fishing spot after days of desperate attempts to find the missing man.
Police and State Emergency Service personnel are attempting to recover the body from an “extremely difficult position in a rock formation” off the coast of Cape Arid, east of Esperance in Western Australia.
The 36-year-old had slipped off rocks while fishing near the mouth of the Thomas River with a family member around 2pm on Saturday, sparking a major search.
Boats, jet skis and planes scoured the water and shoreline without success for the next two days.
WA Police confirmed the fisherman’s family had been informed.
