pragmatism, Capcom’s all-new action-adventure game announced in 2020 (and still shrouded in mystery), has been delayed indefinitely, the publisher announced during its Capcom Showcase presentation on Monday. A new trailer for the game apologized for it pragmatism‘s final delay, stating that the development team needs more time.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have to postpone the release of pragmatismreads a statement credited to the pragmatism development team. “Our team is currently working hard to make the best game possible, but we need more time. We will continue to do our best to ensure that the final product is worth your patience.”
Capcom isn’t even committed to a 2024 release window, it seems.
In some better news, Capcom has released a short new trailer for pragmatism, which shows the game’s little girl, Diana – who appears to have magical or advanced technological powers – ignoring her partner/protector’s request to help him deal with some mechanical enemies. From there, it looks like Capcom has released actual gameplay footage from pragmatism, in which the unnamed spaceman protagonist drags Diana around on his back while battling bad guys. It looks like a giant mech could fight alongside the protagonist – maybe that is Diana too? Purely based on the two-character gameplay, it seems pragmatism could be Capcom’s take on the Dad Game genre, à la The last of us And God of war.
pragmatism was originally a 2022 game, when Capcom unveiled the project at Sony’s PlayStation 5 showcase in 2020. It was later delayed to 2023. When it arrives, pragmatism coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X.
