Candice Warner breaks down as she describes the moment she planned suicide

Candice Warner has shared the devastating moment when she was on the verge of taking her life during the fallout from her “bathroom visit” with Sonny Bill Williams.

The WAG told The Sunday Project that she was standing on a cliff at a famous suicide site and considered jumping off.

“I just thought, ‘This is it.’ I just couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t handle the headlines. I couldn’t bear to disappoint my parents. I couldn’t handle it all. It was all too much,” she said, collapsing.

The 38-year-old says she called her brother Pat, who came to her rescue.

“From that point on, Pat came to check on my house on a daily basis, and I felt like I had to get to that point to move forward to some degree,” she continued.

“It’s really real to me. It’s the pain I’ve inflicted on my family. It’s the ache and pain, it was so deep,” she said. Sonny is in the picture

“It’s really real to me. It’s the pain I’ve inflicted on my family. It’s the ache and pain, it was so deep.’

Candice says she felt her treatment was “unfair” and reflected a “double standard.”

“Most women were treated that way. For men, it was high-fives and “tell me all the details,” but for women, we were pigeonholed to be a certain person or type of person,” she said.

“It still amazes me to this day how I was forced to apologize for a pash I had – a drunken pash I had on a night out.”

The shocking incident, in which she was photographed in a compromising position with Sonny by a spy, caused a huge media frenzy. Sonny pictured on the left in 2006 and Candice pictured on the right in 2007

Candice described over the weekend how her life was “ruined” when the encounter in the Clovelly Hotel bathroom was made public in 2007.

“I was so close to ending it,” she told this week’s issue of Stellar magazinewhile it breaks tears.

“The only thing I did wrong was go to a place I shouldn’t have been. That was it. Still, it ruined my life. It ruined parts of my family’s life – years we can never get back’

Candice went on to say she dreads explaining the deal to her young daughters when they are old enough.

“It’s so hard to put into words without breaking into tears because it was so painful. It still is,” she said.

“One day I’ll have to explain to my girls what it’s all about. That’s heartbreaking.”

The Ironwoman said she lost her job and “no one respected her” after it was made public.

“I still carry that scar and that pain. My family had to be humiliated… it changed their lives,” she said.

Candice has previously spoken about the night she was caught having a bathroom appointment with Sonny Bill, 35, on a night out at the Clovelly Hotel in 2007.

Candice was only 22 when the incident took place and said she had a hard time dealing with the public humiliation and subsequent fallout.

“I was almost suicidal. I’ve been through a lot at such a young age. I got to the point where I literally couldn’t take it anymore,” she told The Daily Telegraph in 2020.

The former athlete suffered further after her husband David was caught cheating during a test match in South Africa in 2018.

Candice married David in 2015 and they share three daughters Ivy Mae, eight, Indi Rae, seven, and Isla Rose, three.

She’s currently gearing up for a publicity blitz for her telling memoir Running Strong, which has already netted her an $80,000 advance.
