Socialite Candice Miller’s mogul husband Brandon Miller was being sued for owing over $221k on furniture and boat fees when he died
New York real estate magnate Brandon Miller was being sued for more than $221,000 by two companies when he died last week, according to a report.
Miller, who was married to Candice Miller, a socialite and co-founder of Mama + Tata, died on July 3 after spending several days in the intensive care unit of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
The developer’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed by his family, nor has he commented on his passing.
It has now emerged that Miller was facing multiple lawsuits for unpaid services at the time of his death at the age of 43.
Interior Marketing Group Inc. sued Miller in April, alleging he failed to pay $102,730.27 for luxury furniture services, according to a report Page six.

In the same lawsuit, Miller is accused of refusing to return more than $64,000 worth of furniture from their Manhattan apartment.
The furniture reportedly consisted of “high-end living, dining and bedroom furniture and various accessories, including, but not limited to, dining room and family room light fixtures, rugs, table lamps, bedroom desks and chairs, dressers, bed frames [sic]cushions, curtains, net curtains and works of art.’
In another lawsuit filed against Miller in May, Lighthouse Marina alleges he failed to pay the outstanding balance for services on his boat, MillerTime, which had been docked at the Long Island marina since October 2020.
The marina alleges that Miller never āresponded to or acknowledgedā an October 2022 notice informing him he owed nearly $40,000. Millerās alleged debt eventually grew to $55,205.76, according to the legal filing.

The marina alleges that Miller never responded to or acknowledged that he received a notice in October 2022 informing him that he owed nearly $40,000. Miller’s alleged debt eventually grew to $55,205.76, according to the legal filing

The document states: ‘Defendant received the boat, used it, enjoyed it and then traded it in for a larger boat, which defendant could not have done if plaintiff had not made repairs.
“The suspect profited from the repairs that were never paid for.”
Miller, a father of two, was the principal partner at Real Estate Equity Corporation, founded by his father Michael.
His wife Candice started her fashion and lifestyle blog Mama and Tata in 2016 together with her sister Jenna Crespi and has since taken over most of the business.
She is also co-founder and marketing director of the vintage-inspired clothing line Black Iris and head buyer for the Southampton store Tenet.

Candice has built a sizable following on her now-deleted Instagram account, where she shared every aspect of her lavish lifestyle ā like the $800 facials she gets once a week, “unless she’s traveling” ā as she told The New York Times in January.
Miller’s father Michael Miller founded REEC in 1978 and Miller joined the company in 2004.
The company has developed more than 2 million square feet in the US and is responsible for several high-profile projects in Manhattan.

According to the Real Deal, Miller’s family has been sued multiple times for alleged financial misconduct.
His father, Michael Miller, who died in 2016, was sued in 2019 over allegations that he instructed his assistant to forge his son’s signature on several loans. That lawsuit was settled.
In May 2022, TD Bank filed a lawsuit against Miller, his mother and his sister. The three defendants allegedly made fraudulent wire transfers to prevent the bank from collecting $2.1 million in damages from his mother.
