Candace Owens rips Chris Cuomo after she called Russian leader Putin ‘intelligent’

Candace Owens and Chris Cuomo argued over her comments that Tucker Carlson’s interview with Vladimir Putin made the Russian president seem intelligent.

While discussing the former Fox News anchor’s interview on the Patrick Bet-David podcast on Friday, Owens praised the Russian president’s intelligence and said he looked smart compared to Joe Biden.

Cuomo criticized the rioter for praising the leader. The NewsNation host added that Putin has done that its enemies killed and restricted the freedom of Russian citizens.

“You were just triggered by the fact that I acknowledged that Putin…” Owens said before Cuomo interrupted her.

‘I’m not triggered, what are you 19? What, are you using 19 year old woke language that’s triggering me? I’m not triggered,” Cuomo said.

Owens said Putin’s explanations of Russian history were impressive and intelligent compared to Biden’s often gaffe-filled speeches.

“Tucker just went there and interviewed Vladimir Putin and this is significant because then you saw what it looks like when someone not only has the mental capacity, I mean, regardless of what you thought about the interview, you’re forced to acknowledge that he an incredibly smart person,” Owens said.

“It’s very clear that Putin can finish a sentence and Biden can’t.”

During the interview, Putin provided a “historical background” to the conflict with Ukraine before defending his military’s action.

He then made a series of bombshell claims, including that Bill Clinton offered Russia a place in NATO, Russia has superior “supersonic missiles,” Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich is a “spy” and that the CIA has the Nord Stream blown up. Pipeline.

Cuomo was outraged by Owens’ idea that Americans should want a leader like Putin.

“You (the public) think he (Putin) gave you an accurate recitation of Russian history from the 8th century because Candace just said so,” Cuomo said.

“She’s wrong and you’re wrong, okay? He has not given you an accurate recitation, but a KGB-manipulated look at why it is okay that he wants to restore the Soviet Union.”

Owens defended herself against Cuomo’s criticism, saying that calling Putin smart doesn’t mean she supports him.

“Chris, there’s no reason to do this, there’s no reason to do this. You’re doing so well, I’m not going to let you do this to yourself,” Owens said.

“Seriously, there’s no reason to do it. It is clear that Vladimir Putin is intelligent. There is no reason, it makes no difference to you, to admit that any man who can spend an hour working out the history of his country from the 8th century onwards has his mental powers to spare.’

In the Carlson interview, when asked what the decisive moment was that decided to launch his attack, Putin replied “initially the coup in Ukraine” – referring to the removal of Zelensky’s predecessor Viktor Yanukovych in 2014.

‘And what led to the current events? First, the current Ukrainian leadership would not implement the Minsk agreements, Putin continued. The Minsk Agreements were a series of treaties aimed at ending the Donbas war between Ukraine and Russian separatist groups, signed in 2014.

He accused the former leaders of Germany and France of failing to fulfill their obligations to the agreements.

“They never intended to carry them out, they just fooled us,” he said.

He also chafed at the idea that a change of president would change the outcome of the war.

‘You just asked me if there will be another leader who will change something? It’s not about the leader,” he said.

Putin sensationally claimed that a peace deal on the war in Ukraine was once close to being agreed, blaming the “Western side” for wanting to prolong the war for as long as possible.

“We are ready to negotiate,” he said.

“It’s the western side, and Ukraine is clearly a satellite state of the US. It is obvious. I don’t want you to take it as if I’m looking for a strong word or an insult. But we both understand what’s happening.’
