Candace Owens denounces British Airways for ‘fraud’ after $18,000 seats failed to adjust

Candace Owens is suing British Airways for ‘financial fraud’ after she paid $18,000 for business class tickets for herself and two children – ages 10 months and two years old – and the seats couldn’t be adjusted

  • Owens, 34, fired back at the company on social media after paying $18,000 for corporate seats that didn’t work
  • The firebrand commentator shared her experience on social media, saying the company had committed ‘financial fraud’
  • Despite the pilot allegedly telling her she would be refunded, the airline only offered her $200, according to Owens

Conservative commentator Candace Owens has accused British Airways of “financial fraud” after the business class seats it had paid for failed to be reclined.

In a tweet, the presenter said she had booked three business class seats on a 10-hour overnight flight with her two children, aged 10 months and two years, only to discover after boarding that the seat had no power and could not recline .

Furious, she posted on Twitter, “We get on the plane and find ONLY our 3 seats are completely out. They can’t sit back, TVs don’t work, can’t charge our phones.

‘The manager and captain were very nice and apologetic and made it clear that we would be refunded.

She added: ‘But then BA got in touch and offered us a voucher. Just can’t even comprehend the financial fraud.’

Owens said, “I just called BA and they are only offering a $200 travel check. Each seat costs 6k. This is literally fraud and there is no other way to look at it.

“I’m so furious I can’t even believe they think I’d let this go. you [BA] sold this chair online as a fully reclining bed with a television with media access and chargers, something that made sense for a 2 year old and a 10 month old;

In response, British Airways reached out to Owens via Twitter and said: ‘I’m really sorry to hear that you and your child seats have no power, so can’t sit back and the entertainment system isn’t working.

‘Could you please follow us and send your details via DM?’

Owens hit back at the operator, saying the average customer lacked social media and labeled their move as “literal theft.”

It remains unclear where Owens was travelling, but she is married to British businessman George Farmer and is known to travel to the UK on a regular basis.

Farmer is the CEO of the social media app Parler, a tech site that aims to appeal to conservatives.

The brand sparked controversy at Paris Fashion Week last year when she tweeted a photo of herself and Kanye West in White Lives Matter T-shirts.

The incident brought Owens back into the spotlight and preceded the musician’s descent into anti-Semitic diatribes on Twitter, including praise for Hitler.

Owens was criticized for not condemning West on her Daily Wire show, which has 1.5 million subscribers and is broadcast as a podcast and on YouTube.

The rapper later agreed to buy Farmer’s “free speech platform” Parler, which is popular with the far right.
