Cancer survivor, 8, was pushed down stadium stairs by drunken fan at Bills-49ers game, mom claims

A mother claims her eight-year-old child, a childhood cancer survivor, was pushed down the stairs at Highmark Stadium by a rowdy Buffalo Bills fan during Sunday Night Football.

A Facebook post about the situation has gone viral after Mikey DeCamilla shared the experience her family had at the Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers game.

She shared that her daughter, Mia, who battled embryonic sarcoma (per her GoFundMe page) was knocked down the stairs by a Bills fan.

Along with images of Mia dressed in Niners gear, holding up signs that read “I Beat Cancer!” My first NFL game!’ was this caption: ‘Unfortunately we left earlier than planned. Yes, the Niners are losing, but unfortunately we had to deal with the police because a drunk Bills fan decided it was cool to pass my husband and me and push our eight-year-old daughter Warrior Mia DeCamilla (down the stairs, in section 312!

The mother added, “If you are such a Bills Mafia fan, unfollow our family now.!!!!! I also hope that that asshole who thought it was cool to push a kid standing in the cold with her cancer-free sign was worth your victory!’

Orchard Park police and the Buffalo Bills did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment on the matter.

After news of the family’s story spread on social media, several people associated with the league and the Bills reached out to raise awareness.

Former wide receiver Antonio Brown boosted Mia’s GoFundMe page – which surpassed its $10,000 goal and now stands at more than $16,000 at time of publication.

Buffalo-area journalist Kate Glaser I also posted the video from DeCamilla and said, “The Bills have also tried to provide Mia with a better stadium experience on a future visit.”

The DeCamillas are 49ers fans, but they come from upstate New York, where winter has already started and snow fell early and often.

Western New York was pummeled by lake-effect snow all weekend, but fans and staff managed to dig out 2 feet of the white stuff to keep the game going as planned.

And it didn’t disappoint as fans took to social media to share their love for the conditions – from the warmth and comfort of their homes.

It was a slightly different experience for fans inside the stadium as clips emerged on social media of them climbing through layers of snow to their seats wrapped in jackets and scarves for the big match.

Saturday and Sunday, volunteers came to the stadium to earn $20 an hour and some free hot drinks for their efforts to clear snow from the field.

Buffalo ultimately braved the elements and won the game 35-10, capturing the AFC East title

Conditions eased in the hours before kick-off as officials removed the tarpaulin from the pitch, but snow began to fall heavily shortly before the match started.

Fighting through the showers and snowfall, the Bills were able to finish in the top 35-10 thanks to a stellar performance from quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen became the first quarterback in NFL history to run, pass and catch for a touchdown in the same game.

He became the twelfth player in NFL history to accomplish the feat, the fifth player in the NFL since 1970 to do so, and incidentally the first to record a either-way touchdown as 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey did it for San Francisco in 2022.

Buffalo also claimed the AFC East title with five games remaining and became the first team this season to win their division.
