Cancer patient ‘sues Khloe Kardashian’s Good American for “wrongful termination” claiming she was sacked after asking to work remotely after her diagnosis’

Khloe Kardashian’s company Good American is reportedly being sued by a former employee for “wrongful termination.”

It’s said the former employee was hired as an intern at the clothing company Khloe Kardashian co-founded in 2019 and rose through the ranks several times in the ensuing years.

But shortly after she asked to work from home following her cancer diagnosis in 2023, she was fired.

According to the Explosion Citing documents, the company said it obtained that the woman, whom the outlet declined to name, received “consistently positive reviews, promotions and raises” before she was fired.

She was promoted to marketing coordinator around June 2021 and to social media around June 2022, receiving a raise both times.

In a performance review around February 2022, the former employee was described as a “team player who gets the job done” who “performed strongly under pressure.”

It went on to say that she was a ‘great multi-tasker’ and an ‘asset to the team’ as she was ‘hardworking, timely and dedicated’ and ‘went above and beyond’.

The woman received another pay increase around February 2023 for her ‘continued good work’.

But later that year, in June, the employee – who had previously been diagnosed with cancer – gave her employer a doctor’s note informing them that she was being cared for by medical professionals due to her conditions.

Her doctor asked her to work from home because she “had a weakened immune system, was sick and her lungs were damaged.”

A month later, she submitted another doctor’s note, which she said was not well received by executives, who reportedly responded negatively to her need for housing.

She said she was advised to take “medical leave from work” rather than requesting to work remotely, as “those who work remotely are not doing so to ‘go to the doctor’ or for medical necessity” – but this was the case for the former employee in the past, when she was previously diagnosed with cancer.

In September 2023, the woman submitted another doctor’s note, in which her doctor urged her to work remotely “to limit physical contact with others and prevent all respiratory infections.”

Despite previous “glowing” reviews and repeated promotions and pay increases over the years, she was fired in October 2023.

Good American told the Blast this was part of “company-wide layoffs” for a dozen employees, but the cancer survivor claims she was fired because of her “medical condition (cancer).”

She is now suing her former employer for ‘wrongful dismissal’ and the case is still ongoing. MailOnline has contacted Good American and representatives for Khloe Kardashian for comment.
