According to Fox Sports, the 28-year-old spoke to Canberra staff after being returned to the sheds. The doctors confirmed that he had had a seizure and that he would be taken to hospital for further examination.

The Kiwi star made a tackle and appeared to run back into the defensive line before collapsing, twitching and seemingly unconscious.

Players from both sides could be seen moving away from the scene to give him privacy and allow medical staff to intervene quickly.

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart temporarily left the coaches’ box to walk to the touchline and talk to Canberra’s medics. Speaking to Fox League after the final whistle, Stuart added that the cause of the seizure has yet to be determined.

“It was terrible,” he said.

“I just spoke to the doctor and he said he was having a seizure and he doesn’t know why.

“They’re a little unsure at this point why it happened and he’s off to the hospital now and our prayers and thoughts are with him.”

Raiders veteran Josh Papali’i added, “My heart goes out to Corey, I really hope he’s okay.”
