A hair transformation meant a signature look was out the window and instead exuded Seventies vibes and a bizarre new style for the character, appearing in 18 episodes of the original show from 2002 to 2004 and two subsequent films.

In the hilarious scenes, protagonist Carrie Bradshaw – played by Sarah Jessica Parker – marvels at the fact that he has her, leading to laughter from other characters.

It’s Harry Goldenblatt, Evan Handler’s character!

Harry and his wife Charlotte Yorke Goldenblatt throw a Halloween party in the episode, in which they dress up as Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings, the Russian spies from the 2013 series The Americans.

The couple talk about their love for the series in the episode and are later seen watching the show, which no other characters on the program watch.

The wig resurfaces when Harry wants to go incognito to attend a Ralph Lauren photo shoot and spy on his child Roc.

Charlotte is horrified when she sees the wig – saying she thought he would return the hairpiece – but he shyly admits that he likes the hair.

Evan has spoken in the past about his hair coming out of the back of a tragedy.

At age 24, Evan was told he would die if he was diagnosed with two bouts of leukemia, leading to four brutal rounds of conventional chemotherapy, two bone marrow harvests, and a bone marrow transplant.

The cancer led to his hair loss after which his hair never grew back.

Initially, the star wore wigs to cover his hair loss, but he revealed that once his life was in danger, he found hair loss a small price to pay.

He said, ‘I didn’t put [a wig] in a long time and would love to work with them more but I’m now known for the way I look…

“I was hoping my hair would grow back long, but when it became clear that it wasn’t, I shaved off what grew.”

In 2021, Evan took to Instagram to share a photo from 1987 prior to his hair loss, as he confessed that he knows people are “fascinated” by images that show him with her.

In a caption, he wrote, “People seem fascinated with pictures of me with her, so here’s one from circa 1987 or so. Already a veteran of countless Broadway productions and movies #Taps and #TheChosen, this was right after the filming of “Sweet Lorraine”.

My hair had grown back after massive #chemotherapy for #aml (acute myeloid leukemia), but had yet to suffer the defeat of the #bone marrow transplant that was yet to come in 1989.”
