Girafarig’s evolution, Farigiraf, which made its debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill probably come to Pokémon Go soon Gen 9 Pokémon will be in the game. Niantic hosted three Spotlight Hours in a row featuring Pokémon that evolve into special forms in Paldea (or have regional variants, like Wooper), which is quite suspicious.

What is the shiny rate for Girafarig in Pokémon Go?

According to old research from the now defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback machine), the shiny rate for Pokémon on a normal day is about one in 500. Girafarig is not a confirmed Pokémon that gets a “permaboost” (meaning it is a rare spawn and thus gets an increased shiny rate).

What can I do to attract more shiny Pokémon?

Not much, unfortunately. It seems to be a random coincidence. Catch rates for Shiny Pokémon are determined by developer Niantic and are typically only increased during special events such as Community Days or Safari Zones, or during Legendary Raids. There are no consumables that increase the speed of Shiny Pokémon.
