Cameron Munster has finally settled his future with reports suggesting he has struck a new deal with Melbourne Storm.
The gun five-eight’s NRL career has long been overshadowed by uncertainty with speculation due to his Storm contract expiring next season.
Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins are strongly linked to the Queenslander, and despite being offered a huge $5.4 million deal, Munster has accepted a lower offer of around $4 million to stay in Melbourne.
Cameron Munster has finally decided on his NRL future and stays with Melbourne Storm
The 28-year-old has signed a four-year extension reportedly worth $1 million per season
His new deal runs until 2027, meaning he will be 33 by the time it expires and Storm chief Matt Tripp has spent months trying to convince Munster to remain a one-club player.
“I love the Melbourne Storm and am proud to be committed to the club for another four years,” Munster said via Fox Sports.
“The club has always supported me, even in difficult times, and I appreciate that Trippy, Justin, Frank and Craig have given me the time to think about the decision with Bianca and my family.
“It’s such an important decision for me, and ultimately Melbourne is where my heart is, Melbourne is where I want to play my football and Melbourne is the club I want to be part of for the rest of my career. .

NRL supporters took to Twitter to mock the dolphins for their botched pursuit of Munster
“I’ve always wanted to be a club player. Storm gave me the chance to play NRL and the club has become a second home to me since my debut.
“Both Bianca and I have family in Queensland but we are settled in Melbourne, we have a great support network and we look forward to growing our young family in the years to come.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this process and throughout my career, especially Bianca, my son Jaxson, my parents and extended family. Thanks also to my manager Braith Anasta.
“And finally, thank you to the boys, and everyone at the club, we have an exciting future ahead of us.”
Unsurprisingly, Munster’s revamp has sparked a social media pileup for the Dolphins, who are now desperate for a tent signing.
