Cameron Diaz’s comeback movie ‘erupts into chaos as unexploded BOMB is discovered on London set’

Cameron Diaz’s comeback movie, Back In Action, reportedly got even further confused when filming was temporarily halted last month.

Chaos is said to have erupted when an unexploded World War II bomb was found on set just as two massive stunts – including a large explosion – were about to take place.

Production on the Netflix blockbuster is said to have come to a halt at the Royal Docks in East London, causing the loss of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Although the scenes were eventually shot against a green screen at Longcross Studios in Surrey, it was claimed to have caused a ‘massive headache’ for those involved.

A source told The sun: ‘The stunt was supposed to take place on the quay last month. A 24 meter high barrier was erected in the river, where the explosion was to take place.

“But it was while building the set that they thought they found an unexploded bomb in the water.

“Safety was the main priority, so after consultation with the police and relevant authorities, the whole case was cancelled. That part of the river is normally never disturbed, so it’s left as it is.’

MailOnline has contacted Netflix for comment.

Back In Action came to a halt earlier, it was reported, after a plot emerged to steal £33,000 from Cameron’s co-star Jamie Foxx.

The bosses of the big budget Netflix movie Back In Action are said to have interrupted production because they were conducting an investigation that led to the firing of a staff member.

It was alleged that the police had been contacted about the incident, as it is believed that the same employee may have been involved in other attempts to get large sums of money from big stars in the past.

A source told The sun: “This movie has been a bit of a nightmare.

“There have been a lot of delays, especially with the weather, thanks to outdoor filming in London in winter, but the latest release is a bit sinister.

“One staff member has been sacked and inquiries are ongoing after someone tried to access £33,000 in cash from Jamie Foxx.

“It sounds like they were trying to offer a Rolex watch as part of the deal, but now everything is under investigation. People will be happy when this thing is finally done.”

It recently emerged that Cameron probably won’t be returning to Hollywood for another movie — after a friend revealed that the star is struggling with super-long work days that are tearing her apart from her husband Benji Madden and their three-year-old daughter, Raddix.

She officially retired from Hollywood in 2018, before being lured back by her close friend Jamie to star alongside him in action comedy Back In Action.

But her comeback project was thrown into turmoil earlier this month, when it was reported that Jamie “had an absolute meltdown” on the film’s UK set, leading to the firing of three people.

Now, a source close to the star has revealed that – while she has no issues with Jamie – she probably won’t be returning to the movie business after finishing the project because she had such a hard time being away from her family. and hates the “drama and confrontation” that so often erupts on movie sets.

“These consecutive 10-hour work days have been a lot for her and she hates being away from Raddix,” the friend tells MailOnline exclusively, adding, “Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world .’

She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired in the first place,” she adds. “She has already proven herself in the industry and has nothing left to prove to anyone.”

Cameron famously walked away from Hollywood in 2018 to spend more time with her rocker husband Benji, 44.

The two welcomed their daughter in December 2019 and have been incredibly private about their lives as parents to their three-year-old.

According to the insider, although Benji was incredibly “supportive” of his wife’s decision to retire, the decision has taken a toll on him.

“Benji supports everything Cameron does, but it has cost him a lot,” the source tells DailyMail.com. “Even though she saw her family while shooting the movie, it’s just not the same.”

Regarding Jamie’s on-set tantrum that led to him firing an executive producer, two directors and his driver, the insider was mum on specifics.

They did say they would be “incredibly surprised if it caused any tension between Jamie and Cameron.”

“When you’re in a position of authority, sometimes you have to make decisions to let go of people who don’t share the same vision as you,” says the friend.

“Cameron is a businessman and understands that sometimes this is necessary and, honestly, Jamie is the only reason she’s making this movie and they’re still very close.”

Over the course of two decades, Cameron made more than 40 hugely successful films and was once the highest paid actress in Hollywood.

However, since announcing her retirement, she has turned her hand to other ventures, including creating her own wine brand, Avaline, which she launched with business partner Katherine Powers during the height of the pandemic in 2020.

This venture was a major turning point for the Charlie’s Angels actress — and has given her a new creative outlet to focus on, according to the source.

“Cameron has become extremely involved with Avaline and was instrumental in its creation,” the insider said.

“Aveline has grown exponentially and it’s something Cameron is very proud of.”
