Cameron Diaz likely won’t be back in Hollywood for another movie, after a friend revealed the star has been struggling with super-long work days separating her from husband Benji Madden and their three-year-old daughter, Raddix.
The 50-year-old officially retired from her Hollywood career in 2018, before being lured by her close friend Jamie, 55, to star opposite him in the action-comedy Back In Action.
But his comeback project was thrown into chaos earlier this month, when it was reported that Jamie “had an absolute meltdown” on the film’s UK set, leading to three people being laid off.
Now, a source close to the star has revealed that while she doesn’t have a problem with Jamie, it’s likely she won’t return to the world of movies after finishing the project, because she’s had a hard time being away from her family. and she hates the ‘drama and confrontation’ that so often breaks out on movie sets.
“These back-to-back 10-hour work days have been so important to her and she hates being away from Raddix,” the friend tells DailyMail.com exclusively, adding: “Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world. “.
A source close to Cameron Diaz has revealed that she likely won’t be making another Hollywood movie after the actress came out of retirement to work on a beleaguered project with Jamie Foxx.
Foxx, 55, executive producer and star of Cameron’s comeback film Back In Action, has been reported to have had a ‘meltdown’ on the UK set, leading to the redundancy of three people.
A friend of Cameron’s told DailyMail.com that while there is no tension between her and Jamie, she hates being away from her husband Benji Madden and their daughter while they film.

Cameron stepped away from Hollywood in 2018 to spend more time with her rocker husband Benji of 44 years.
The two welcomed their daughter in December 2019 and have been incredibly private about their lives as parents to their three-year-old daughter.
According to the source, while Benji has been incredibly “supportive” of his wife’s decision to come out of retirement, the decision has taken its toll on him.
“Benji supports everything Cameron does, but it’s been a lot for him,” the source tells DailyMail.com. “Even though he got to see his family while filming the movie, it’s just not the same.”
Regarding Jamie’s on-set tantrum that led to him firing an executive producer, two directors and his host, the source did not provide specific details.
However, they said they would be “incredibly surprised if it caused any tension between Jamie and Cameron.”
“When you’re in a position of authority, sometimes you have to make decisions to fire people who don’t share the same vision as you,” says the friend.
Cameron (starring in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle in 2003) stepped away from Hollywood in 2018 to spend more time with her rocker husband Benji of 44 years.
At one point, Cameron (seen in her 1998 film There’s Something About Mary) was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood, earning $20 million per film, and a source says she feels she “has nothing more to prove.”
“Cameron is a business person and he understands that this is necessary sometimes and, honestly, Jamie is the only reason he’s making this movie and they’re still very close.”
Over the course of two decades, Cameron racked up more than 40 blockbuster movies and, at one point, was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood.
However, since announcing his retirement, he has pursued other ventures, including creating his own brand of wines, avalinewhich he launched with his business partner Katherine Powers during the height of the pandemic in 2020.
This venture was a major turning point for the Charlie’s Angels actress and, according to the source, has given her a new creative outlet to focus on.
“Cameron was very invested in Avaline and was instrumental in its creation,” the source shared.

Prior to the movie he’s currently working on, Cameron hasn’t made a movie since 2014, when he starred opposite Jamie in the musical comedy film adaptation of Annie.
He officially announced his retirement in a 2018 interview with entertainment weekly.
Instead, the source says Cameron wants to focus on being a full-time mom to her daughter, while also putting much of her energy into her wine business, Avaline.
Benji and Cameron welcomed their daughter via surrogate in 2020. “Benji is supportive of everything Cameron does, but it’s been a lot for him,” the source says.
Although he had no real plans to return to the limelight, Jamie announced the end of his retirement on his Twitter account in June 2022.
In the shocking post, Jamie brought infamous non-retired NFL star Tom Brady into a conversation with Cameron in an effort to convince her to retire.
During the call, she made sure to say how nervous she was about making an announcement.
‘I’m so anxious right now, I’m pacing the room… I don’t know how to do this, you know?’ declared the stunning actress.
Jamie called Tom, 45, who retired from the NFL only to retire again, to give Cameron some advice.
“I was talking to Jamie and he said you needed some advice on how to cancel your retirement. I’m relatively successful at not retiring,’ the newly single quarterback said.
Jamie then told Tom that he was trying to persuade Cameron to come back, referring to her as GOAT, which stands for Greatest Of All Time.
‘Cameron, I hope you’re not mad that I recorded this, but there’s no going back now. I had to call the GOAT to bring another GOAT,” Jamie said.
Cameron shared a screenshot of the voice call on his Instagram story with a message for his longtime friend and fellow A-list star.
Jamie Foxx, only you could get me back in action!!! I can’t wait, it’s going to be great! Cameron said, dropping a hint about the title of his next movie.
