Cam Norrie withdraws from the US Open with SAME injury that ruled him out of the Olympics – as British hopes are dealt an early blow in first major since Andy Murray’s retirement

Cameron Norrie has withdrawn from the US Open after revealing he has not fully recovered from the forearm injury that forced him to withdraw from the men’s singles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In a statement on his Instagram, the British tennis star wrote: ‘I have been working hard to get my body back to full health. Unfortunately, my forearm injury is not healing as quickly as I had hoped.

“That’s why I can’t play in the US Open this year. I’m going to rest and recharge. I can’t wait to compete like a dog again.”
