Cam Norrie opened his Australian Open campaign in elegant fashion as he walked to first-round victory in Melbourne.
The 27-year-old defeated French teenager Luca Van Assche 7-6, 6-0, 6-3 to advance to the second round.
Norrie fell in her first game at the tournament last year and is hoping to reach the third round, which will be her personal best at the Australian Open.

Van Assche was competitive in the first set, but struggled to live with Norrie in the next two.
He continues to have an impressive start to the year after he reached the final of the Auckland Open in a losing effort to Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
Norrie successfully prevented what would have been her fourth first round exit in five years at the Australian Open.
He has shown strong performance in recent majors after reaching the Wimbledon semifinals last year, before losing in the fourth round of the US Open.
Norrie will take the court on Wednesday as she looks to reach the third round of the Australian Open for the second time in her career.
