Britain’s Cameron Norrie has been forced to withdraw from the men’s singles event at the Paris Olympics due to injury.
The British number 2 was due to face Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor in the first round on Sunday on court 10.
However, after Marie Lourdes defeated Tatjana Maria 6-0 6-0 in her first match on the court, it was announced that Norrie had withdrawn from this summer’s Olympic Games.
The LTA – the British Tennis Association – posted on X: ‘Unfortunately Cam Norrie has had to withdraw from TeamGB for the Olympic Games due to injury. Hope to see you back on court soon Cam.’
Norrie is the third tennis player to withdraw from the Olympic Games in Paris, after world number 6 Alex De Minaur and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina.

Greece’s Petros Tsitsipas replaces the 28-year-old in the men’s singles.
He is the younger brother of Stefanos Tsitsipas, with whom he will compete in the men’s doubles.
Norrie’s withdrawal leaves Daniel Evans and Jack Draper as the only ones left in the running for Team GB to secure a medal at this summer’s Games.
Evans will face Tunisia’s Moez Echargui in the first round on Sunday, while Draper will face Japan’s Kei Nishikori.
