Viewers of Call the Midwife were left in tears on Sunday after beloved character Lizzie Yue (Rebecca Hyde) was killed in a tragic car accident during the show’s emotional season finale.
In graphic scenes, fans watched as the mother-to-be’s unborn daughter was saved by C-section as she lay dead on the street.
Dr. Turner (Stephen McGann) rushed to the scene to help his pregnant patient, but was too late and had to perform the risky procedure with the help of his wife Shelagh (Laura Main).
On Twitter, one fan wrote: ‘Okay I’m crying like a baby right now!’
With a second addition: ‘Damn a caesarean section on the street!’.

It comes after Leonie Elliott reportedly stepped down from her role as nurse Lucille Robinson after six years on Call the Midwife.
The 34-year-old actress last appeared on the BBC series in the second episode of the current series after her character returned from Jamaica after being diagnosed with crippling depression.
Fans were worried about the medical worker after her husband, Cyril, bought her a ticket to the country earlier in the season.
Lucille suffered a devastating breakdown after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage and while struggling to conceive afterwards.
And the sad story is said to be the character’s last in the popular drama, according to the Mirror.
Leonie said after her final scene was shown last month: ‘This season was incredibly difficult to film. Thank you for all your kind words… Take care of yourselves and each other.’

It comes after it emerged that the fan favorites from Call The Midwife will return for the next series despite stories suggesting they might be leaving.
The news that is sure to delight viewers comes just days after the BBC announced that the popular TV show will run until at least 2026.
And now, the beloved characters Trixie, Matthew, Monica Joan and Cyril have been confirmed to return.
Viewers of the show feared that Trixie Franklin, played by Helen George, might leave the drama after her wedding to Matthew Aylward (Olly Rix).
The scenes revealed that it will finally have her happily ever after, but many fans were left worried that the couple could leave East London.
Olly told the Mirror: ‘Your attention is focused on changing things around you. It doesn’t seem remotely in their characters to drop all of that now and enjoy the quiet life. That’s not what they are.

There were also fears for sister Monica Joan (Judy Parfitt), who currently has hepatitis, and what this would mean for her husband Cyril (Zephryn Taitte).
A source told MailOnline that Trixie, Matthew, Monica Joan and Cyril will return for the upcoming series.
The BBC has confirmed that Call The Midwife will return for two more seasons, keeping it on the air until at least 2026.
Fans of the show will be delighted as the bosses, who had already announced season 13, have now commissioned two more.
Filming for the next series of the beloved drama will begin in the spring.
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated final episode of the current series, which promised a wedding between Trixie (Helen George) and Matthew (Olly Rix), aired on Sunday.
The show is set in the 1950s and 1960s in London’s East End, and centers on a group of midwives in a nursing convent.
