Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 announced, with a full reveal immediately following the Xbox Games Showcase in June
Call of Duty: Black Ops6 It’s been revealed to be this year’s entry in the annual first-person-shooter (FPS) franchise BlackOps1 Through 4 like Cold War which was the fifth entry of the subseries.
Now, perhaps for simplicity’s sake (and to give it some equality with the numbered Modern warfare subseries), the latest Black operations returns to a numbered entry.
Announced via a official Xbox Wire post, Call of Duty: Black Ops6 will be fully revealed in an instant presentation all its own, taking place right after the June 9 Xbox Games Showcase at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST. Unfortunately, nothing about the game other than the name was revealed in the Xbox Wire post, so we’ll have to keep the heat on until the June showcase for more concrete information and (hopefully) gameplay.
The official unveiling of Call of Duty: Black Ops6 comes shortly after a mysterious website went live with an interface resembling an alternate reality game (ARG), the slogan “The Truth Lies” and images that could have been inspired by the failed January 6, 2021 uprising, in which dozens of protesters tried to infiltrate the US Capitol.
We still have a few weeks of speculation until the showcase on June 9, but it has been confirmed that long-time series developer Treyarch will be calling the shots this year, with support from Raven Software.
Call of Duty: Black Ops6 will likely feature a campaign, as well as all the multiplayer bells and whistles we’ve come to expect. A Zombies mode is likely here too, in addition to integration with the current version of it Call of Duty: Warzone.
